The News Journal of Delaware reported today that Michael Berg, father of terror victim Nick Berg, is running for Congress from his new home in Delaware.
Nick Berg was a civilian who went to Iraq several times seeking to help the Iraqi people by rebuilding radio towers. He was kidnapped by terrorists and beheaded, reportedly by Al Qaeda in Iraq leader Al Zarqawi.
Berg briefly became a darling of the Bush-hating media when television news showed him collapsing in his front yard in West Chester, Pennsylvania when he was told by members of the press that a videotape of his son's beheading had been released by the terrorists.
Berg fell out of favor with the media when he was exposed as an activist with the communist front group International ANSWER--a group that supports terrorists.
The Berg family moved to Wilmington, Delaware this year.
Berg says he will run for the seat held by Republican Michael Castle, a former governor of the state. He will be running as a member of the leftist Green Party and will campaign by riding his bicycle throughout the state.
The News Journal also reports that Berg is seeing a therapist weekly--and that Berg says the FBI has agreed to pay a substantial part of his bills through their victim's assistance program.
Berg protests against the war every week on a street corner in Wilmington with a small group of leftists. He was recently arrested at a shopping mall while participating in a "Buy Nothing Day" protest.
Oh good grief
Wasn't Berg a civilian contractor, or free lancer? IMO they will both run for congress - I think Sheehan is being coached to do that as we chat. She now has world recognition and she loves the camera - a perfect congressional candidate. Wonder what state/district she will represent? Can you imagine listening to that little girl voice for another 4 or 6 years? You will get that chance if the Loony Left has their way, and can figure out how to wrest control of the evil Diebold machines back from Rove.
The ANSWER man runs for office. Remember, he slipped up when he told reporters that his son's killers beheaded their best friend.
He was. And Nik Berg was super-patriotic and pro-Bush and pro-WoT to boot.
Ugh...just the thought of Congresswomen Sheehan...makes my skin crawl.
Well Congressman Berg can sit next to Congressman Clooney (George's dad)....oops...Clooney didn't win...neither will Berg.
Cindy Sheehan has pronounced herself "mom to all the children in the world." I don't think even Congress could contain her ego now.
He will crash and burn and has NO chance in Delaware -- I lived there for 20 years. State doesn't like newcomers, Mike Castle has been in office forever, and the other senator is Joe Biden.
Why not go to the Middle East and run for office there so his buddies can help get him elected?
Yikes. Maybe we should run. LOL
It's just a matter of time before Cindy announces her running for Congress
LOL. Who will play Cindy? Who will admit they are unattractive enough to stand in for her?
No doubt Berg will be getting a warm welcome from Biden.
Yes, but that was for a mornic comic book she wrote in 30 minutes. If she really did run for Congress, there are millions of idjits out there that would welcome her with open arms. Her mental capacity to be a congressman doesn't matter in the least - once in congress in Jan 2007 she would go into the "attack BUSH mode" in earnest and that is what the loony left wants in their congressman. She would have non-stop 24/7 camera coverage and be quoted in every publication around the world.
"My son was beheaded by Jew/Christian hating islamofascists, and it's all George Bush's fault, elect me to Congress."
and I will make sure I my work in congress is toward bringing the entire US military back home to US soil where they belong." Yes that is the DemocRAT slogan for sure. We were not attacked by Iraq - how many times has that been spewed by the left?
to help the ones trying to get rid of the West
not mine
