I had a grandmother, whom, at the end of her life, used to criticize (loudly) people for being fat.
I just thought it was low class. I had no idea it was because they lose the "screen" between their thoughts and their mouths (as you put it.).
LOL!
Tell the truth: when you see a really fat person, don't you think...you would never say it because you would not want to hurt the persons' feelings. Well your your grandma, she used to just think - then it came blurting out.
The moral of the story: Clean up your stuff now before you lose the ability to analyze/screen it from public consumption. When you are really old, the ugliness and mean spiritedness or the beauty and innocence will come spilling out. : ) One of my grandmothers did blurting beauty and the other... She blurted ni**er once in her last visit to a resturant with the family. It was not like her at all - she was a liberal.
Mike Wallace did a wonderful interview with Loretta Lynn last year. In the middle of the interview..out of nowhere...he asked her why she thought George Bush sent the US to war. It was the most bizarre moment I've ever seen on TV. The man is so consumed with hate for GW. But I feel sorry for Chris. After all, he's still his Father. It must be tough.
He really said that? There's so much more we don't, and never will, know.
Why? If you so believe that parent is wrong...why not? It's brave. And never speak ill in private? You've got to be kidding me.
The last thing he did that showed any cognizance was exposing the McMartin Preschool witch hunt for the travesty it was....and that was a long, long time ago.
uh, you lifted the quote of an earlier post to which I was responding (#7)
Then Chris showed his Dad a video of his new great grandchild. Which Chris was so proud of...I couldn't believe his Dad had not even seen this new grandchild yet, William Wallace.
Mike Wallace is a poor excuse for a father, IMHO.
Agreed with the above and the rest of your comments on this thread. Read reply# 151.
Sometimes our family members are wrong and if the issue is important enough and the situation presents itself as it did for Chris Wallace here, one is morally obligated to stand for belief and principle over the family member even in public.
sorry!
What experience does being the Senator from New York or Massachusets offer?
"Not sure I'd diss my dad on a national stage, though."
I don't think it was a diss. His father has issues, and the press is taking advantage of an old man to promote their views.
I thought Chris Wallace was a lib. He was thoroughly dissed as one by Mike Savage. Can't always believe the Savage one.
Mike Wallace is leftist, liberal, and senile.
But is she a demented Democrat? Or are the terms synonymous?
She's not demented. Just media challenged. I'm working on that though:')
Did he really call him that?
And its even worse for a father to make his son have to choose his country over him.
Unbelievable BUMP!
Say for example: "I do not share my father's opinions in these matters."
