Sunday, December 11th, 2005
Guests to be interviewed today on major television talk shows:
FOX NEWS SUNDAY (Fox Network): Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, R-Tenn.
MEET THE PRESS (NBC): Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright; Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C.
FACE THE NATION (CBS): Rep. John Murtha, D-Pa.; Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala.
THIS WEEK (ABC): Zalmay Khalilzad, the U.S. ambassador to Iraq; Sen. Joseph Biden, D-Del.; Health and Human Services Secretary Mike Leavitt.
LATE EDITION (CNN) : Khalilzad; Sen. Jon Kyl, R-Ariz.
Same here and all across the nation I would guess.
Have you seen the clip FOX has shown of Dean making a speech using a microphone, standing at a podium, reading (it seems) from notes? This speech was recent, after his 'we can't win' remarks.
My impression is that Dean was flat, there seemed to be alot of background noise and he was the lounge singer being ignored by everyone.
IOW, Dean seemed like a marked man who knows he is a marked man. I saw nervousness, apprenhension and fear in Howie's affect.
Just my impression, but curious as to how others saw it.
Murtha is becoming the new Biden.
Murtha was active duty in the 50s, but did not go to Korea. Then he joined the Reserves, and about 1966 asked to be reactivated to go to Vietnam. By that time he was a officer with rank, having started as an enlisted man.
I do not know what duty he had in Vietnam.
Oh, well. There are no scandals attached to Democrats or John McCain (Keating 5 notable).
Albright says this is a war of choice. She's a piece of work.
Jack Murtha never would have become a war hero under Howard Dean.
Albright says we have at to work toward leaving and we've created a situation where it's difficult to leave.
Isn't that just like a Clintonite; measly words that mean nothing.
It's not like we're trying to stay longer than necessary.
Well .. Clinton did choose to do NOTHING to fight these terrorists
She also says that we are not building up the Iraqi forces. There was no post invasion plan.
When I see Frist described as a GOP leader I wonder just who he's leading?
"Do you know anything about the investigation of Murtha for steering contracts to relatives after huge contributions/payoffs?"
It wouldn't surprise me if this is the reason this "great patriot" is distracting everybody from victory in Iraq....but I haven't seen any sources for the rumor.
Biden: Some Democrats think it's the bottom of the ninth inning and some it's the bottom of the eighth. Biden's one who thinks it's the bottom of the eighth. We've got a 50/50 chance of winning this thing.
MTP
Russert shows a 'clipped' version of the RNC white flag ad -- showing on Dean's comment.
LOL. Graham says Dean says we can't win, but it doesn't mean he's not a patriot. Lindsay is an idiot, but you knew that.
Graham says that in South Carolina, the most patriotic state in the nation, that people have turned against the war. We've planned for the best and gotten the worst.
Well, some people HAVE turned against the war but it's because people like Graham, other Congressman and the administration, until a few weeks ago, let the lies from the left stand as truth for nearly a year. The president has been speaking out about the lies from the left; now it's the turn of Republican Congressmen to stand up for the truth.
Did anyone catch Murtha last night, when he was (at least supposed to be) on John Kasich's show? I was otherwise engaged an missed it.
Graham wants the new RNC web campaign waving a white flag in front of Dean's face to be pulled.
Figures.
