SENATOR CALLS ON BUSH TO TAKE DOWN ATTACK AD Sat Dec 10 2005 16:41:38 ET

Today, Senator Daniel Inouye, the Ranking Member of the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee and a recipient of the Medal of Honor for his service in World War II, released the following statement:

"As a Veteran of World War II, I know what it’s like to fight a war and put your life on the line every day. I also know what it takes to win a war, and I know that politics and an attack machine like the President’s plays no part in it.

"The Republican Party’s latest ad is a shameful and disgusting attempt to distract the American people from the problems in Iraq. It may improve the President’s political fortunes, but the American people and our troops will pay the price. I hope that President Bush realizes how shameful it is to play politics when what we really need is leadership, and that he will direct his Party to take down this ad immediately."

A real hero, Inouye trades this heroism in the defense of the surrender monkeys in the Democratic Party.

Sad, really.

"With all due respects to the Congressional Medal of Honor winner ... He is obviously in deep pain and needs some meds."

I respect him for that Medal of Honor too. When will those communist Rats ever figure out that it gets awful old when they do it and finally our side took a swing at them and it starts out with whining to President Bush and that they are being so abused. They can shove off. They don't want a discussion about anything, all they want is for our side to let them have everything they want. My thoughts are if they can't take it don't dish it out.

Barry Goldwater also started becoming senile in his later years. He chose McCrazy to succeed him in his senate seat.

It appears Inouye accepted a MOH from the effort of Clinton, which in itself speaks volumes.

Yep, the left can throw rocks at us in the MSM everyday and they eat it up like its gospel.....We finally took off the gloves and told it like it is and they can't handle it.

The American public can hear the words coming out of their vile mouths and can see the white flag of surrender. This was an awesome and vital Ad for truth.

Senator Inouye is already besmirching his (United States of America) Medal of Honor by supporting the racist and divisive initiative to grant special extra legal status to so called Hawaiian natives. Screw him.

If war-hero Sen. Inouye knows what it’s like "to fight a war and put your life on the line every day ... [and]what it takes to win a war, and ... that politics and an attack machine ... plays no part in it" why would he not have reminded his fellow Democrats for the past 2+ years that politics ends at the water's edge? That, whether or not they like it or not, President Bush is Commander in Chief? That relentlessly made statements to the effect that "Bush lied" and led us into an "illegitimate war" do nothing to help our country or our troops who are in harm's way?

I never heard Sen. Inouye make any such statements to his fellow Democrats. After nearly 3 years of attacks, relentless attacks, from Democrats and their allies in the MSM, the GOP and President Bush are fighting back against the Democrat attack machine, and Sen. Inouye now speaks out, crying "not fair?"

Sen. Inouye may have been a hero 60 years ago, but he is a pathetic partisan hack today.

Heroism may be fleeting and of the moment. I respect him for the actions taken to earn our nation's highest recognition yet that award does not qualify him as an expert on war or anything else. Here is just another whining though highly decorated Dem with no vision.

That is an excellent, and often overlooked point.

Thanks for mentioning that.

The truth sometimes is hard to swallow. It was for me, as I supported Barry in '63.

He was the man for the times and LBJ and the little girl in the flower field ad blew him out of the election. LeMay didn't help either.

I often think of what have could have been.

May God bless those Vietnam veterans.

If there's nothing in the U.S. more noble than a war hero, there's nothing more despicable than a war hero who uses his status as a war hero to betry his country and give aid and comfort to his country's enemies.

Senator In-no-way should look to his own party first and clean up their act.

Some of them should be hung for Treason.
