In Case You Missed It: Mort Kondracke On Democrats' "Disastrous Week" And "Defeatist" Rhetoric

I think this has been a disastrous week for the Democrats across the board.
When they're not incoherent, then they're defeatist....
And then we have John Kerry who's back in the picture. Made another speech today...
He comes up with this agenda, which sounds exactly like the Bush agenda...
He pretends as though Bush is doing nothing to foster democracy around the world, somehow, Jordan...Bahrain...Qatar...Egypt -- are moving toward democracy, he says, as if it's on their own.
And the Bush Administration has had nothing to do with pushing it.

That's a good explanation of his point of view, I think. Too bad the Davey Gregories and Terry Morans are so caught up in their poses as Dashing Man of Action/News Reporter Guy that they can't actually THINK, but can only push the acceptable (to their fellow medioids) positions. David Gregory comes on Matthews and pushes the same trite accepted wisdom as if he thinks we should be thanking him for gracing us with his presence.

Yeah, I know. The day I learned of his wife's passing, I felt sad for him.
I like Mort. He and Fred go well together.

I agree. Pat Buchanan is a beloved figure around here, but he's a terrible blowhard. As for McGlaughlin, I can't stand to see Eleanor CLift's horrible face. Just can't put myself through that, not to mention her embarassingly off-target positions. The standing headline on her stories should be "Republicans are evil, while the rest of the world is democrat" or "Bill Clinton is so dreamy".

I think Mort also, because of his wife's illness, is pro stem cell research.

"Think a few years ago. . .Mort was or 'was considered' a Liberal. Think because the Dems have moved so far Left; that he now appears to be moderate. I also think he - unlike many Demrats - gives honest, rational thought to things."
Mara Liason is a bit more to the left but she too will not carry the lies.

I don't agree at all. Maybe in hindsight it seems that way, but I've often been surprised because he doesn't repeat what the rest of the pack is saying. Do you really think tomorrow's shows will be filled with talking heads saying this, that the dems failed? I don't.

Don't the current Democrat leadership just instill oodles of confidence that they can run this great country (sarcasm).
Lets see they want to cut and run in Iraq, take away your guns, manipulate the vote, squash freedom of the press, promote politically correct diversity, do away with Christmas, take God off money and out of any public view, make law from the bench and generally enforce a lot of socialism at your expense.
Yep, just the kind of people that every poor despotic third world country has for leaders.
HowWeird Deaniac, John sKerry, Nancy Pulooser, Babling Boxero, Teddy the Sot Kennedy, Little Dic Turdbin, Shorty Reid, Cynthia Kook McKinky and Charlies Angle.
The current Democrat leadership makes the Keystone Kops look like Harvard graduates.
I wonder how some of their supporters can get on television and support these freaks of political nonsense and mental instability.

I think Mort also, because of his wife's illness, is pro stem cell research. Mort works health care funding (gov't) in very often. It's almost a mantra with him. Not necessarily government funded health insurance - he's just big on government funded research. Sometimes it gets a little old.
Still, I like him also - he probably leans Democrat, but he's not a kool aid drinker. I think he can report an honest story and call it like it is.

I can't really figure out Mort's political positionI know what you mean. My theory is it has a lot to do with his deceased wife's disease. I think his pet issues are health care, stem cell research, etc.
Kondracke is one of very few Democrats I respect. I do disagree with him on some things, but the man is honest and will not hesitate to criticize the democrats.

I agree he had a wife for many years suffering and I appreciate his pain.. I kinda like him too.. He is not crazy and most of the time I agee with his stance.. He doesn't seem to have a liberal agenda
To: AlbionGirl
"He's like a JFK democrat. JFK had some good ideas for the Country, from taxation to the Space program."
Oh, so you mean he is exactly like that other JFK democrat - Ramsey Clark?
To: Nasty McPhilthy
You are right, Mort and Fred work very well together. I think Brit Hume's show is one of the best around on public affairs. They are all very decent and civil people although Fred does get a little excited at times. Krauthammer is always superb when he sits in. I look forward to the panel every day. These people would be welcome in my home anytime.
