Today, Senator Daniel Inouye, the Ranking Member of the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee and a recipient of the Medal of Honor for his service in World War II, released the following statement:
"As a Veteran of World War II, I know what its like to fight a war and put your life on the line every day. I also know what it takes to win a war, and I know that politics and an attack machine like the Presidents plays no part in it.
"The Republican Partys latest ad is a shameful and disgusting attempt to distract the American people from the problems in Iraq. It may improve the Presidents political fortunes, but the American people and our troops will pay the price. I hope that President Bush realizes how shameful it is to play politics when what we really need is leadership, and that he will direct his Party to take down this ad immediately."

Senator Inouye, PLEASE direct your anger towards your Democrat colleagues. They are the ones that should be ASHAMED and whom with you should be DISGUSTED!!!
THAT is a shameful statement to come from a MOH winner, whose own political party is playing politics on the backs of our troops and America's future security by calling for retreat in Iraq at a time when WE AND IRAQI PRO-DEMOCRATIC FORCES ARE WINNING.
He served in WWII
Sorry, couldn't resist....
The Republicans need to simply respond:
"Inoue says our recent ad featuring comments from Democrats on Iraq is shameful and disgusting. We agree. The comments from these Democrat Senators are certainly shameful and disgusting. If Democrats would change their ways and start treating Iraq as an important struggle for freedom and democracy, rather than a political game, we would not have to point out their shameful and disgusting comments."
What's so wrong or "attackful" about this ad? It's just stating the dem leaders point of view? Let the American people decide if these are the people they want leading the country.
Take the ad down? In no way.
How so? Dean saying we can't win puts are troops and the American people in more danger by improving the terrorists morale.
Right On!
Dems cannot be shameful for they have no shame.
I am reminded of the following passage from the Harvard Lampoon's "Bored of the Rings." I made the mistake of reading it first and then laughing my way through Tolkien's "Lord of the Rings" cycle the first time I read it while in college.
...Suddenly, a brightly colored figure burst through the foliage, swathed in a long mantle of hair the consistency of much-chewed Turkish taffy. It was something like a man, but not much; it stood six feet tall, but could not have weighed more than thirty-five pounds, dirt included. Standing with his long arms dangling almost to the ground, the singer's body was covered with a pattern of startling hues, ranging from schizoid red to psychopathique azure. Around his pipestem neck hung a dozen strands of beaded charms and from the center, an amulet imprinted with the elf-rune Kelvinator. Through the oily snaggles of hair stared two huge eyeballs that bulged from their sockets, so bloodshot that they appeared more like two baseballs of very lean bacon.
"Ooooooooooh, wow!" said the creature, assaying the situation quickly. Then half loping, half rolling to the foot of the murderous tree, he sat on his meatless haunches and peered at it with his colorless, saucerlike irises; he chanted an incantation that sounded to Frito like a hacking cough:
"Oh uncool bush! Unloose this passle
Of furry cats that you hassle!
Tho' by speed my brain's destroyed,
I'm not half this paranoid!
So cease this bummer, down the freak-out,
Let caps and joints cause brains to leak out!
These cats are groovy here among us,
So leave 'em be, you up-tight fungus!"
Thus speaking, the withered apparition raised his spidery hand in a two-fingered "V" sign and uttered an eldritch spell:
"Tim, Tim Benzedrine!
Hash! Boo! Valvoline!
Clean! Clean! Clean for Gene!
First, second, neutral, park,
Hie thee hence, you leafy narc!"
The towering plant shivered and the coils fell from its victims like yesterday's macaroni, and they sprang free with joyful yelps. As they watched with fascination, the great green menace whimpered like a nursling and sucked its own pistils with ill tmeper. The boggies retrieved their garments, and Frito sighed with relief to find the Ring still firmly Bostiched to his pocket...

Democrats have nothing but contempt for our military and never miss an opportunity to discredit them, and that is why their sudden pretense of concern for their well being in Iraq is so transparent. The Democrat Party, just as it did during our war against Communism, had rather see our soldiers killed and our country defeated than allow a Republican President to receive credit for defeating our enemy.
May God damn them forever for the American service men and women who will die in Iraq because of their treason.
Exactly, Where was his concern for the troops when the dims were dissing the army, worn out and broken, and accusing the Commander-in-Chief of lying to go to war. This is so hypocritical its laughable.
"It's now an attack machine to broadcast the Democrats own words?"
Evidently it is :)
Boy each and every one of them is yelling about this. Must be doing real damage to them.
Good.
Of course. If you want to know what Democrats are up to, look at what they accuse Republicans of doing.
Kinda brings to mind "Give 'em Hell" Harry Truman's comment (paraphrasing): "I just tell the truth about them and they think it's Hell."
Being a registered DemocRAT is shameful and disgusting.
