Re: Brakes. Folks, I think billhilly is refering to the story that Etorre Bugatti in the 1930's recieved a letter from a woman customer complaining about her Bugatti's brakes.

His reply: "Madam, my cars are made to go, not to stop."

:-)

Not a political subject but...who can resist?

Wanna' bet?
This monster (and the Aston-Martin Vantage) are the object of
worshipful machine-lust on Pacifica Radio's "The Car Show" in Los Angeles.

I just listened for a few weekends to the show, suspecting to hear
a lot of worship of the Toyota Prius and hydrogen-cell go-carts.

Instead, the two hosts slobber over cars that 99.9% of the population
would never be able to afford...and polluting gasoline cars at that!

I guess the show is "fancy cars for liberals" while the liberal
hypocrites tell "the rest of us" to get on the bus or train and
not criticize environmental nutburgers.

But I do owe the Pacifica Radio car show a debt.
Until they talked about this new Bugatti, I'd never heard of a
"W" engine configuration.
It must have burned the hosts to sound like they were talking about
a Republican President "Dubya" while lusting after this car.

Naw, it's not that. I'm too poor to afford the car, and looking for a better excuse.

If the first one who buys the car would just give me a freepmail to share the experience I would really appreciate it. I'll be watching for the red, you have mail, light.

Comander Cody also says he's down to seeds and stems again, too.

My alltime fave country blues song.

Good get. I thought the same thing, but didn't have access to an Edsel grill photo. This thing is a highway beast.

I'll let you guess what we called the Edsel front in the late fifties.

"It depends. Is it front wheel drive? Or, when will the SUV version come out? :)"

Reading is FUNdamental. It's all-wheel drive.

How are the brakes?

At 235 MPH you would need one of these:

Happily, stopping distances become irrelevant because you won’t see the obstacle in the first place. By the time you know it was there, you’ll have gone through the windscreen, through the Pearly Gates and be half way across God’s breakfast table.

Review

About $1,200,000 (plus tax).

I don't know about you, but going from 253 to 0 in less than 10 seconds doesn't seem like my idea of fun.

Looks like a urinal is meant to go there.

I would be very careful and yielding to that impulse.

There is no doubt that the double nostril look is not as attractive as the single nostril.

That car would challenge a Peugot or a Citroen for sheer ugliness. One word: blechhhhh!

Here is a fun fact: In a panic stop from 253 mph, the Veyron comes to a halt in less than 10 seconds — hard enough to pull the sunglasses off your face

Gee - I wonder what going from 253mph to zero in 10 seconds does to your brain and other internal organs.
