Thanks to a congressional earmark, an open-borders advocacy group that pushes for drivers licenses, free in-state tuition and healthcare for illegal aliens and bilingual requirements for state agencies and ballots is slated to get $4 million in new taxpayer money to add to the more than $30 million it has received from various federal agencies since 1996.
The National Council of La Raza (NCLR), Spanish for the race, will get its latest grant through an appropriations bill passed by Congress on November 18. The Joint Explanatory Statement of HR 3058, available on the Houses Rules Committee website lists 1,100 plus earmarks in the bill, including La Razas grant under the Housing and Urban Development Departments Self-Help and Assisted Ownership Programs. Under this account La Raza will receive four times as much as the Special Olympics, which won a $1-million earmark.
La Raza is the nations largest Hispanic advocacy organization. It was adamantly opposed to the REAL ID Act, which will prevent states from issuing drivers licenses to illegal aliens if they want them to be usable for federal purposes. It is also opposed to the CLEAR Act, which would grant state and local law enforcement agencies that wish to do so the authority to enforce federal immigration laws.

Bienvenidos a Amexcia. Oprima el numero dos para Ingles.
This is what disapoints me most about a decade of GOP rule. This is a terrible grant, but is only $4 million so is only a drop in the bucket. It is however indicative of a complete lack of fiscal control that leads us to waste hundreds of billions of dollars a year despite being a party that publically puts itsself out there as being pro-small goverment and pro fiscal responsability.
The unnfortunate truth is that there are some Republicans who want an open border policy...especially Republicans who want cheap labor.
Well as usual the headline is completely contradicted by meat of the story.
Good gosh. Why do we elect these people?
Watch what they do, ignore what they say.
Our government behaves like aristocracy.
Used to be we voted for them. Now we're just voting against the Evil Party.
Now we're getting candidates that are distinguishable from one another only on insignificant issues and the letter by their name.
"Used to be we voted for them. Now we're just voting against the Evil Party."
We've become the DUmmies.
Yep. All of it and not just the Rats.
As long as it someone else's money (taxpayers) they care about as much as the Democrats do how it's spent.
Since the best and most patriotic candidates will not run, nor be supported for not wanting to "play ball," we are left with a choice between one rich umprincpled whore who will soon owe favors, and another.
The bad news is American politics has become a brothel of sorts -- which will only get worse.

MEXICO-U.S.A. BINATIONAL COMMISSION: AN OPPORTUNITY FOR GREATER CONVERGENCE By Antonio O. Garza, Jr. We have a great opportunity before us. By working together, we can achieve a fully democratic hemisphere, bound together by good will, cultural understanding, and free trade.
