A plane has apparently crashed through a fence at Midway airport in Chicago. Southwest airline 737 plane now sitting in intersection of 55th and Central. Channel 7 has confirmed, fire and ambulances on way. Details still sketchy.
They must have turned left at 54th.
I also checked a couple links online and nothing there either.
Maybe it's an SUV
Considering how nasty slushy snow can be, it's no surprise. Sometimes it's like driving on applesauce.
>>>Plane was landing and wasn't able to complete landing roll. <<<
Sounds like calling an explosion & fire a large scale disassembly with rapid oxidization...

Howard Stern? Isn't he a spin distortion zone all by himself??
Forgot to lower the gear?
Something weird happened when I went by that I thought was lightning but I guess it was a local transformer failure that would explain the 63rd street light. My 12-mile ride home from work took nearly 3 hours.
We've got our first snow storm in Indiana too. Took me over two hours to get 10 miles home in nitwit traffic. More bluster on the way.
Now I've got to read downthread and see what happened at Midway! Hope everyone is okay.
Live now on CNN.
Did you know....
Southwest has a Space Shuttle Commander flying their planes? "Hoot" Gibson who did 4 flights as Commander and one as Pilot.
He retired from NASA and needed a job! His wife is Rhea Seddon, another very experienced astronaut, who did 3 shuttle flights.
Need tailhooks.
At least they've got a new "Wanna get away?" moment for their commercials.
I flew with him when he was a co-pilot, it was on his first week with southwest and they made a big deal about it. They were giving him a hard time about his age and he signed autographs at the gate.
Nope. Mains are down and locked. Nose gear has either collapsed or been sheared off.
This is Southwest 2nd incident. Parked one in gas station in Long Beach about 10 years ago.
