Democrats in Congress today suggested that yesterday’s Federal Air Marshall shooting of a mentally ill man, who claimed to have a bomb on an airplane, could be part of a larger Bush administration strategy to reduce federal spending on mental health programs.
“We’re not publicly saying that Bush is killing off bipolar people to purify the American gene pool and improve the race,” said one unnamed Senate Democrat. “But at a time when mental health agencies are being told to tighten their belts, one can’t help but wonder if that man in Miami died so that the Bush-Cheney cabal and their wealthy cronies can keep their tax cuts.”
Democrats plan to introduce a bill next week that would require Federal Air Marshalls to perform a comprehensive mental health screening on prospective human targets. They’ll also propose an amendment to the public school gun-free zone law that would surround all American airports, and planes in flight, with a 1,000-foot “gun-free circle of safety.”
If Bush cut mental health funding, then it must be the only thing he cut.
It really wouldn't surprise me if they did.

I would ask. ..why was he traveling ( a stressful situation for the mentally healthy) having abandoned his medication. . .
Why didn't his wife refuse to go unless he took his medication. . .why did she not warn airline authorities he was not on his meds as well; they might have more of an eye on him; or found some reason to not let him fly. . .. . why. . .why. . . but why ask.
The sad fact of the matter remains that it was unavoidable at the 'end point'. . .and not just excuseable. . .but in truth. . .a necessary and reassuring, response. . .

What's really amazing to me personally is just how clueless the Dems are about how unbelievably stupid they look when they do this.
Scrappleface gets these satires out faster and faster after something happens because they know the Dems will be stealing their thunder, and they want to be able to say, "We thought of it first."
