Democratic Base 'Ashamed' of Hillary Clinton
NewsMax.com ^ | Dec. 8, 2005 | Carl Limbacher

Posted on 12/08/2005 7:28:03 AM PST by Carl/NewsMax

Liberal Democrats are so upset with Hillary Clinton's waffling on the Iraq war that some are now saying they're "ashamed" of her.

The Daily Kos - the political web site widely read by the party's base - is urging Democrats to move beyond Mrs. Clinton and her husband, declaring: "Shame on the Democratic Party if they ever nominate her" for president.

The scathing editorial, written by Kos contributor "Trifecta," states outright: "More than anything else, I am ashamed of Hillary Clinton."

"When you look dispassionately at some of the things [Bill and Hillary] are capable of, it should leave one very skeptical and concerned about a 'third term' for this pair."

The Kos writer compares Hillary - unfavorably - to President Bush, saying she's an unprincipled opportunist when it comes to key issues while Bush shows leadership in the face of adversity.

"When faced with low poll numbers on his crappy ideas, Bush plods on," the Kos pundit says. "And [he] still gets them passed, pushing his agenda forward."

Meanwhile, Trifecta complains the Clintons "put their fingers to the wind" and run away from the fight.

The left-wing blast at Hillary also compares her unfavorably to Sen. Joe Lieberman, whose defense of the war last week contrasted sharply with Mrs. Clinton's weaselly claim that she was tricked into voting to give Bush the authority to attack Iraq.

"Holy Joe Lieberman is a true believer in this war," says Trifecta. "He may be scorned, but as idiotic as his views are, I genuinely believe these are his views.

"Hillary on the other hand is simply unbelievable. She protested Vietnam, knows this war was a stupid mistake, but is so damned cynical that she is engaging in this twisted posturing, all to serve her personal interests. . .

The Kos Hillary slam concludes: "Shame on her. Shame on the Democratic Party if they ever nominate her."

The internal fighting among the Democrats is so much fun to watch. Rush predicted this over and over.

"The left also practices the end justifies the means. It's all political theater.
"

You're right. And the Republicans are finally seeing through it.

She's actually quite good in politics. She'll swing left during the primaries to woo the Moonbats back, then go back to her 'original positions' to capture the nation.

Hardly the end of her. If she is nominated, they will certainly vote for her. They want to stop the GOP at all costs. They would vote for her if she were in prison.

Ya HOO! The Beginning of the end of the Hildebeast!

Actually I think the whole thing is a ruse designed to sell Hillary to the centrists. "If the moonbats don't like her, she must not be that bad after all." Meanwhile, of course the moonbats will vote for Hillary anyway if she runs.

Funny how the MSM is still talking about the "fracture Republicans."

Not so funny when you realize that is how propaganda works. Just keep repeating the story until it is a fact.

Are the lemmings lining up for another leap off the anti-war cliff?

Damn, I must have been a good boy for Santa to bring such a gift once again.

This is exactly what I've been saying for awhile- I don't think Hillary is a shoe-in with the Democratic base- just the hardline leftists. The Democrats are forgetting their base is in large part made up of socially conservative but fiscally liberal people. They can smell a rat and won't back a liar. Plus, I think that Hillary has waffled enough that there are sound clips out there that are going to nail her along the lines of "I was for it before I was against it."

What makes this news? Seriously. We see those kinds of opinion written here on FR every day.

The answer, I'm afraid, is that News Max learned long ago that anything with Hillary Clinton's name on it could sell books, NewsMax or any other product. Hillary Snowshoes anyone?

Take Hillary away from them and they are a slick blog.

Hitlary was the last great white hope for the Democratic Party. Expect the party to split up if she doesn't get elected in 2008.

The other question is, What will we do without her to energize us?

The Daily Kos - the political web site widely read by the party's base

What's the sound of one coughing up his coffee in shock and even a little bit of terror? If The Daily Kommunist is indeed palatable by "the party's base", then the base has become 100% unabashed socialists.
