The anti-American Marxist front group Code Pink has announced that they are canceling their planned trip to Cuba this month as a result of pressure by the Bush administration.
Code Pink, which calls itself a peace group, had timed the trip to Fidel Castro's communist paradise to celebrate the anniversary of the success of his violent revolution this New Year's Eve. Plans for the trip included visits with local neighborhood groups that spy on fellow Cubans and report any counter-revoultionary behavior (like wanting freedom) to the Castro regime.
The United States has maintained a strict travel embargo against Cuba which Code Pink was proudly vowing to violate.
However, the Treasury Department recently sent 'cease and desist' letters to Code Pink, its parent organization Global Exchange and some trip participants warning them of the legal repercussions of violating the travel ban: fines of up to one million dollars and ten years in prison.
As a result, Code Pink says several of the participants decided to cancel their plans to stand up against the Bush administration in solidarity with Fidel Castro.
Code Pink said those cancellations denied them the "safety in numbers" they felt they needed--whatever that means.
Bottom line, Code Pink is too cowardly to really stand up to President Bush, but brave enough to protest wounded American soldiers outside military hospitals.
Link to Code Pink's announcement.
We'll have fun with the Code Pink chickens tomorrow night!
Send 'em over a box of cigars.
Nothing like having the courage of one's convictions.
LOL - gmta!
But they have a problem with the Patriot Act. Go figure.
This man is every bit as stupid as he looks.
C'mon Code Pinkos....put your money where your mouth is, go see Fidel AND STAY THERE!
Still waiting for the investigation of Code Pink by the Justice Department.
"The United States embargo against Cuba (described in Cuba as el bloqueo, Spanish for "the blockade") is an economic, commercial and financial embargo imposed on Cuba by the United States (President Kennedy) on February 7, 1962. As of 2005, the embargo is still in effect, making it one of the most enduring trade embargoes in modern history."
Yet, somehow it's President Bush that's being the bad guy???
....Code Pink said those cancellations denied them the "safety in numbers" they felt they needed......
I interpret that to mean there are no Code Pink Rosa Parks. The leaders lack the courage to go to jail and forfeit their property for a photo op.
I'm no expert in Marxist propaganda, but I think it means:
"As much trouble as we had finding anti-American wackos to protest outside a military hospital, we've had even more difficulty getting nut jobs to travel to Cuba. But since we can't admit that, we'll blame Bush!"
Also waiting for a television news segment on the activities and connections of Code Pink.
I guess they'll miss the back of the neck shooting class.
Code Pinko's standing down to threats of imprisonment.
Come ON girls, put your money where your mouth is,
CHICKENS
