Eight Republican members in the House of Representatives Tuesday praised the progress being made in the Iraq war and called on the American people to demonstrate the support necessary to make that conflict part of the United States' "legacy of liberty."
On the same day that Vice President Dick Cheney insisted in a speech that an early withdrawal of U.S. forces from Iraq would be "unwise in the extreme," the GOP congressmen used a news conference to emphasize the accomplishments made by coalition troops in that Middle East country.
"I think one message that came to all Americans after 9/11 was this: If we don't change the world, the world is going to change us," said Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-Calif.), chairman of the House Armed Services Committee.
"And we are changing the world," he stated. "We're changing the world in Iraq by giving the people freedom."

And the GOP Senators who hastened to chime right in with their affirmation were......

About time the Republicans did something to counteract the spew from the nattering nabobs of negativism in the Dem Party. Kudos to this group.
All Eight of them!!
/sarc...
What are their names?
Thanks for Pinging TR7...for stuff like this...I forward it to the LTTE list. (So they can use it for quotes etc) If you'd like to help with that too it'd be great
The Names will be in your Inbox along with the PingPic.
Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-Calif.), chairman of the House Armed Services Committee.
Rep. Mark Kennedy (R-Minn.)
Rep. Tim Murphy (R-Pa.)
Rep. Mike Sodrel (R-Ind.)
Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-Fla.)
A phrase which is posted each and every time a Republican does something positive regarding Iraq. So when does the biting criticism stop? After 500 positive deeds? 1,000? 5,000?
And yet people wonder why so many Republicans are hand-wringers and/or spineless. Why wouldn't they be, with so many "supporters" willing to sell them out so quickly?
Well OSTT will be sending letters to the other 200 or so spinless ones who didnt stand up with them.
And you know they didn't stand up with them because...?
"So when does the biting criticism stop? After 500 positive deeds? 1,000? 5,000?"
Would love to have one of these folks work for me. I'd give them a strong dose of their own medicine concerning their job performance. They wouldn't last three months and I'd have their ego completely destroyed.
THIS is what bothers me the most! Why gin up their rhetoric DAYS before the final election?
'called on the American people to demonstrate the support necessary to make that conflict part of the United States' "legacy of liberty."
Despite what the lunatic left, pollsters, professors, Demorats and socialists say, the 'American people' are supporting the war on terrorism. We have an all-volunteer military fighting for us. These volunteers came from the general public and they represent the "silent majority".
I think that's exactly why they are doing it. Once this election has successfully taken place, it's one more big obstacle for the Baathist sympathizers in the US Congress and media to overcome. They need a chaotic and demoralizing election process, or else the pro-US side is that much closer to being victorious.
Assignment America: Comapre and contrast these with Pelosi, Kerry, Murtha, and Deaniac.
"aid and comfort"
Standing ovation, here, Coop.
I have a similar issue with those who want the left to keep spewing filth saying it builds the Republicans up when it actuality and reality it tears our troops down.
NO MORE SILENT MAJORITY
I think that's exactly why they are doing it.
So do I speedy. They simply CAN NOT allow another successful election to take place. Especially one that is to FREELY elect the permanent national government! Oh, and put another win in President Bush's column.
"aid and comfort"
EXACTLY!!
