Defending Hussein, Clark Seeks to Set Historical Record Straight
The New York Times ^ | December 6, 2005 | JOHN F. BURNS

BAGHDAD, Iraq, Dec. 5 - Amid the wrenching testimony of a survivor who told of the atrocities wrought by Saddam Hussein's secret police, the presence of a former American attorney general on Mr. Hussein's defense team in the trial court on Monday seemed to be one of the day's less bewildering things.

Ramsey Clark, one of America's more renowned contrarians, made a mark notable even by his own singular standards on Monday when he delivered a lecture to the judges on the elements essential to a fair trial, including adequate physical protection for the defense lawyers. Earlier, flushed and indignant, Mr. Clark joined in a defense walkout that brought the trial to a temporary halt...

I was mocking out the NY Times if you couldn't tell.

Fragmentation or Willie Peet?

That's a tough question. Which one would kill faster? I know it would be nice for him to suffer before dying, but I wouldn't want to risk his surviving. I would sure hate for him to survive a burn unit only to be in a position to propagandize against the US.

The judge should have locked the doors and told Saddam he was going to have to find new lawyers since his left. At the very least he should have found them in contempt and locked them up.

Another reason to hate LBJ.

Clark would be just another run-of-the-mill-hasbeen-leftist-freak-traitor if it wasn't for the "former AG" tag.Now he's a national embarassment.

I hope some patriotic Iraqi, who suffered under the rule of Saddam Hussein, reduces this American Traitor to room temperature in an ambush on the road back to the Baghdad Airport

I am not sure if one should (legal jeopardy and all that) advocate Mr. Clark's eradication from the company of humanity (I don't think you quite did and I won't) but I will say that if some unknown agency caused such an eventuality, it would give me immense pleasure.

Seems like everybody has rights these days. I wonder if they would say the same for Hitler or Stalin. They would probably defend Stalin more.

The left protested our involvement in WW2 until Hitler declared war on Russia. Then it became OK.

The current situation with Ramsey Clark suggests to me the old joke with constantly shifting cast of characters: If you were in a room with Saddam, Kim Jong Il, and Ramsey Clark and had a gun but only two bullets, what would you do?

The answer I have in mind today, of course, is to shoot Ramsey twice to be sure he is dead. But, of course, this would be a real difficult decision in real life.

(Actually, I think I would release Saddam and Kim, shoot Ramsey once and go looking for Al Sharpton!)

The NY TIMES says that Clark will set the record straight??? They don't bother to hide their bias anymore.

Correct historic record (the liberal way):

Saddam wasn't a horrible dictator.
The US Military is a bunch of terrorists.
We're still patroits.

I second that logistical decision.

That would have to be one hell of a burn unit to be able to patch up a WP wound.

"Earlier, flushed and indignant, Mr. Clark....."

About time. Clark should have been flushed a long time ago.

This is more unreal than what Clark is doing. I keep looking at my wife and saying isn't anybody going to tell this person to STFU? The Times needs to grab a brain here. How can a newspaper who supports free speech want to show any type of support (may it be a promo for a lawyer or whatever) for this nasty dictator. Was the Times showing support to Hitler and his crew?

Since I live in Canada, I expect crap like this from the Toronto Star et.al. and certain legal counsel. But this is the USA. Are people sure this Ramsay Clark dude was not born in the liberal/leftist Toronto area of Canada?

We need a really good cartoon - This is your brain, this is the brain of a Democrat - and have it full of holes or some such.

The solution is simple: Shoot two of them straight into the forehead. Guarateed kill. Then pistol whip to death the one you hate the most.
