Jackie Mason, the Jewish comic, called in on the Big Story, 12/1, to announce his involvement with a new organization called 'Jews Against The Anti Defamation Of Christmas' (JAACD). Mason with his trademark accent and smattering of Yiddish agreed with host David Asman [sitting in for Jon Gibson] that Christmas is in danger and Jews love Christmas too and don't want this to continue.
Jews Against The Anti Defamation Of Christmas was organized by Don Feder, a self described Jewish Conservative. The Jews Against Anti-Christian Defamation (JAACD) is an organization designed to come to the defense of Christians.
Jesus was a Jew as was his mother; and as Jews they defined love, courage, tolerance and forgiveness. At a time when Christians are under attack by the liberal media and Hollywood, while being marginalized by merchants, employers and local governments, it is nice to see members of the Jewish community standing by their Christian brothers and sisters.

He was! In fact, there was some kind of feud between Jackie and Sullivan.I don't know all the details, but I think it something to do with hand gestures that may or may not have been obscene (for the time,at least).
I've heard somewhere that he has actually had some rabbinical training. Long time ago.
I think they got it right the second time - Jews Against Anti-Christian Defamation (JAACD). (In my mind, I can hear Jackie saying: "So who are you, Mr. Perfect? Oy, everyone's a critic....") A great guy, and a great cause, in which I will gladly do my part. Chanukkah and Christmas virtually coincide this year, and I am making it my mission to publicly wish everyone I know a Merry Christmas or a Happy Chanukkah, and no more of this PC "Happy-non-denominational- celebration" crap, ever again.
A very commonsensical Jewish secretary at my office reliably plops a little lighted Christmas tree on a file cabinet in her vicinity every year. Mention to her that this seems a little odd given she's Jewish, she says "Oh that's ridiculous. They're pretty!" Case closed. Given that she's Jewish, and that it IS pretty, nobody has ever been able to formulate an objection to her reasoning.
Certainly not. Now,if you wished me Happy Ramadan.....
I am actually moved by this. I can not remember anyone ever standing up for me for anything. Being a middle class working caucasion man, I am the roots of all that is evil in the world.
I am truly honored. It is going to be a Merry Christmas.
I think that,at one time,he actually served as a Rabbi.
This is the way I remember it too...
"Jackie Mason (born Jacob Maza on June 9, 1931, in Sheboygan, Wisconsin) is an ordained rabbi and an American stand-up comedian. He enjoys provoking controversy with his politically incorrect routines and his opinionated observations on Jewish and American life. He gained infamy by allegedly giving Ed Sullivan the finger (he denies this, insisting instead that numerous fingers were flashed and Ed Sullivan assumed he gave him the finger. He later retaliated against Sullivan with a libel suit in the New York State Supreme Court and won. It would be a year and a half before Sullivan would finally let him back on his show)."
He's very funny, but his shtick does not change much IMHO.
His 'Sen. Edward Kennedy' vocal impression still makes me laugh.
He was funny on Mike Savage friday 'looks like the joos are gonna have to save the gentiles!"
Good, he gets it. Most Christians I know are big supporters of Israel and have a great deal of respect for the Jewish faith.
How about this one?

Jackie's a good guy.
He's got our back, we got his.
I love hearing of organizations like this that show a growing unity between Christians and Jews. Theological differences aside, we have a bond and we're stronger as a unit than apart.
Close, the Bronx. Former member of the UJI. United Jewish Italians.
Jews against critics of non-anti-defamation of Christmas

The Bible almost commands it. See Genesis. It says to the effect Blessed are those that bless you. Cursed are those that curse you. (God to Abraham)
Dottie Burman, a friend of mine who is a cabaret entertainer in New York, has a funny song that I think needs to become the newest Chistmas standard. It's called "Let's Have A PC Holiday (Where Everything's Politically-Correct)." Lyrics are here (BTW, the final word is done by the chorus, in place of the word "Amen"): http://www.dottieburman.com/pcholiday.htm
Dennis Prager and Michael Medved also stand up for Christmas.
I'm studying Genesis right now in my Bible study (Bible Study Fellowship BSF).
Genesis is really a great book to learn in depth. As you say it's very clear that Israel is to be blessed.
It's amazing (actally not really) that Israel (and it's people) has survived this long.
Not many other cultures are still around intact.
