"Pres. Bush's penchant for handing out nicknames to those around him strikes again! And while GWB and GHWB lovingly refer to one another as '41' and '43' respectively, White House insiders say GWB is now referring to Condi as '44' ... developing ..."

Nathan Bedford Forrest was a founder of the Ku Klux Klan. So, since you're obviously a big fan of his, I'm not surprised that you'd have a problem with Condi possibly running for president
Why does she take Israel to task yet hardly criticises Palestinians? That is part of the war on terror, why does she take the side of the terrorists?
She should stop worring about diplomacy and start ridding the State Dept. of treasonous liberals.
She is a big supporter of the LOST treaty that provides a revenue stream for the UN.
Exactly, well, it helps us to identify some of the RINO's on this board.
I would really like to see a race between Hitliary and Rice, although I've got my disagreements with Rice. It will be hilarious to watch the left and the lamestream media self destruct. Can you just imagine the spew that Ted Rall will wind up publishing? If Condi wins, there will be mass suicides here in Minnesota (Hurry up and jump! You're holding up traffic!).
LOL... I LOVE that quote.
"I am a 2nd Amendment absolutist!" -- Condoleezza Rice
(See This page, among others...)
Why are not these two goals, along with other social/econ issues, compatible?
If Rice were to run hard right, and I mean hard right, then I would be on board and would max out everyone in my family financially. But I just don't see it happening...but I would love to be wrong, because currently there is no true heir to Reagan in the race. Mike Pence is the only politician in town who can claim that mantle...and it doesn't seem like he will run.
Quick---someone tell Dick Morris, who would already like to be selling franchises on his "Condi Club" idea.
Brown took over FEMA in 2003 with little experience in emergency management. He joined the agency in 2001 as legal counsel to his friend, then-FEMA director Joe Allbaugh, who was Bush's 2000 campaign manager. When Allbaugh left FEMA in 2003 Brown assumed the top job.

I guess that is an admission you have no argument, since you decided to go off on something that has nothing to do with the topic of the discussion.
I see you are also parroting DNC talking points on Katrina.
I see you are also parroting DNC talking points on Katrina.
Rubbish.
The topic is Bush's facetious, or otherwise, identifying Rice as his successor with his nickname. One of the objections to this is Bush's lapses into cronyism. Harriet Meirs and FEMA are examples. Do you think only democrats attacked Harriet Meirs? Are you really going to defend Brown as a choice? Lucky we had only a hurricane and not a nuclear strike. (That does not mean that I see Bush's performance in the hurricane as culpable, but it was a public relations disaster of the worst sort and completely predictable and avoidable. - so please spare me the insults about how I am an unfaithful republican.)
Here are my other objections to Rice which I posted in comment 20:
"What about FEMA? Apart from George Bush's imprimatur, Condi Rice, as estimable as she undeniably is, has not elective experience, is wrong on the cultural issues, and has the charisma of a moonrock. Only George Bush knows for sure, but then only George Bush knew for sure about Harriet Meirs."
Diddle, you have aptly named yourself because you don't know squat, either about avatars or about me. But you sure can leap into cyberspace with ignorance and libel as your outstanding characteristics.

Well, anyway, there's no source to make the "44" claim credible in the first place. We are probably arguing over nothing...let's move on to something else now. Have a pleasant evening.
Condi is brilliant. I'd vote for her.
AND.....there seems to be no place for a touch of humor anymore.
Oh, and don't forget to be suspicious of Abe Lincoln too because some of his thoughts were not always up to 21st century PC standards.
Forrest also sought to disband the Klan and largely succeeded, it was later revived long after his death. Jefferson never manumitted his slaves (apart from mistress and his children) but Lee did and Jackson taught "Negro" Sunday school. Who was more PC?
My objections to Rice were set out in comment # 20 and have nothing to do with race.

And Bob Dole was better (1996)? Or Gerald Ford (1976)? Or Richard Nixon (1968, 1972)? Or Wendell Wilkie (1940)? Or Alf Landon (1936)?
