What do you mean forgotten? Most of the world is still mired in a feudalistic mind set. This is the most natural thing in the world for them.

We are the strange ones.

What do we expect? We haven't taught it in the schools for forty years, at least not with the reverence reserved for big government.

"has the world totally forgotten the concept of limitations on government?"

Only in a world increasingly ruled by women do these kind of "safety" laws keep coming the way they do. So many new laws today flow directly from the un-masculine mind, like the gun control laws, 'emotion based' laws (like 'hate' and 'harrassment' crimes), and 'safety for the children' based laws, etc.

So yes, they have exchanged limited government for 'safety and protection' by Big Brother. All these electronically enforced laws are bit like haveing a cop in every living room and every car. But hey, we're all 'safe' now.

Yup. I think that point got drowned out by the "but its for the children" chanting. sigh.....
