I have forgotten how many hurricanes I have survived in the Houston area....since 1951.

I can say that I have never met, requested aid from, or recieved public benefits of any kind for any damage or loss that these many storms produced...

It's part of living on the Gulf Coast for goodness sakes! I accept that risk.

I wonder how much longer it will be before the powers that be at Fox give him his walking papers?

Not likely...he may be glued to that seat....I would settle for at least one Brian Kilmead, David Asman, Shep Smith, Sean Hannity...for some real thought provoking responses...I'm seeking intelligence....I know they have it on staff!

"They are here in Houston....mischief & mayhem....11 murders last weekend."

Do you know how that compare to previous years?

Apparently Blanco forgot about all the school buses and city buses that were AVAILABLE. I can see contacting the Feds after all of them have been utilized - but not before!

No..but I will say that the Houston Police Chief announced, that he was rehiring retired officers and increasing overtime by 40% to deal with the increase in violent crime. That should tell you how serious it has become.

That's what you get for watching those three silly airheads on the weekend. The guys too are airheads same as juliet huddy or however you spell her name. It's all about THEM. We used to watch it but quit MONTHS ago. I refuse to sit there and waste my time while they all play to the cameras. They lost us a long time ago. Hope yu will realize how silly their whole show is too. Besides, the talking over each other is rude, ill mannered and certainly unprofessiional.

Also, Blanco's office was busy trying to assist Oprah to come down. Oh, does Oprah wish to go to Mass with the Governor? I would have told Oprah's office that there was a crisis going on and to STUFF IT! We'll get back to you when the citizens and state has been taken care of!

Well, it got better. They gave Julian another gift. He opened it and he said he needed it. It was a contact brush, and he explained that he plays golf, and when you play golf, "your balls get dirty." Kiran melted down but composed herself and asked, "Do you use that to clean your balls and your shoes?" I'm still laughing.

Julian is a pain, but he is pro-life. At least he has one admirable quality. Kiran needs to grow up. For goodness sakes, she's expecting a child and she can't stop snickering over the mere mention of the world "balls". Liberals are a juvenile bunch.

You are right on about rebuilding NO. My son and I were here during the hurricane. It was though a bomb went through. We waded through the water to try and clean out the drains not realizing that the pumps had been turned off. I was a big fiasco. We had a generator and could get local TV and watched Nagin, Blanco, and Landrieu put the spin on but we weren't buying. We had buses remember - they flooded. So much went wrong I don't have space to tell. They dropped the ball and I hope come reelection time people of NO remember. We are dying to see Blanco, and Nagin and Landrieu out of office.

Absolutely... I'd pick up the phone and call the President....for goodness sakes

Actually, the President spoke to Blano several times...the first at least 5 days before the storm. He told her that SHE needed to ASK for assistance. He could not just usurp state authority and send it.

Apparently, shes a miserable failure.

---emails FROM her can be altered/hacked if you know someone who knows how to do it. Her 'copies' mean nothing. The person/persons she sent to , she COULDN'T alter, but like I said, hers can. I know I have to much time on my hands, but I went to yahoo mail and went into my sent box. There was a letter to a friend in there. I decided to try and see if I could change the words (if you make a copy/draft ,cut/paste into notepad), it is easy to alter and it still showed the same date I sent the original.

Good Morniing CBKaty,
Sorry to hear about the para-mobile mischief and mayhem in Houston via NOLA's finest.

Maybe, just maybe, people will open their eyes and see how the democrats have added a home-grown Al Queda to America.

I was in Houston in early 1970's and it was a very nice place back then.

I wish you all the best. I hope you have a concealed carry permit. Packing has been known to save innocent lives when the perps are out of control.

Take care and a "Bama" Hell Yea, for the great state of Texas.

Mornning BB1,
Yes, "Ya'll Done Good" The liberal response would have been, "well what if you do not have any boot-straps to pull up?"
Jeb is a great man and governor. The La. governor(Blanko-Blanco) should be heading the street sweeping department of NOLA(main sweeper w-broom)

Ragin Nagin, needs to be standing in a soup line. As a mayor, he has the viablity of a cockroach in a concrete form home.
"Punchy Landrieu", should be working at Walmart as as the, "store customer greeter."

I hope they put everyone of those "so called leaders "in federal prison for the missing levee improvement funds. 250 million dollars, that was purloined on a bridge study.

Take care, and you and I know government is not the panacea for the ills of society or disasters.

As I See It,

I think Jeb Bush said it all with WILMA...he finally got to have his say. He said Lousiana officials really blew it big time. It's not the Feds responsibility it's always the states. Feds are 3rd responders. 1st responder is the city, 2nd is the states...3rd is the Feds.

No matter if she sent or called the Feds 24 hrs before Katrina hit...Feds always have to have 72 hrs after the event. From everything I've read the Feds were on deck 72 hrs after Katrina Hit.

On top of that, the Fema or was it the Homeland Security State office...official had been indicted for his corruption...taking Fed Funds? Proving Louisiana State Officials city on up were not up to the task in the least. Isn't that why Bush started calling and giving BLANKO proposal's on Friday to take charge long before Katrina Hit? BLANKO HAS PROVEN TO BE JUST ANOTHER STUPID DEMBO....

Afternoon POTS,
I would have to presume since Oprah is black, the demo elitist governor(blanko blanco) saw it as an opportunity to dupe more Black Americans.

Yes, they should have told them to stuff it, but liberals cannot make sound or timely decisions.

Democrats breed government dependence, class warfare, anti-Americanism, aid terrorism, and create contrived crisis for America.

Last of all democrats/liberals/commies are incapable of telling the truth. The demos all have PHD's in (prevaricational studies.)

Dear Bitsy,
My heart goes out to all the good people in NOLA and La, who suffered, due to incompetent leadership of "Ragin Nagin, Blanko Blanco and Punchy Lanreiu.

If any of the three had a drop of leadership in their veins, they would have been out in those rescue boats helping and checking on their constituent(s) basic needs and safety. They would have been voicing hope&reassurance for all involved, not hysteria.

They all played the DNC blame game of point the finger at those who were not responsible for this natural disaster.

I do hope the good people of NOLA will send the snakeoil sales politicians packing after the next election.

Only time will tell, but rest assured the dems will be promising many dreams. However, they will only be fulfilling no one(s)(except their own)

Wishing You The Best,
NSNR-FATD&S

Feds are 3rd responders. 1st responder is the city, 2nd is the states...3rd is the Feds.

Why give all that funding to "first responders" that actually turn out to be deserters and looters.... Maybe I just don't get it....

"This doesn't even take into account that the Feds advised the mayor and governor to evacuate and coordinate an evacuation several days prior to Katrina's landfall, when action might've been possible"

I remember this, b/c FoxNews reported it, when it happened.
Doesn't Julian read his own backgrounders? Or summaries?Maybe he doesn't get them?
