Just had a big discussion about this topic at my Bible study on Friday.
We all believe in H***, but we were trying to figure out who goes there. We were discussing if God gives people a last chance to believe and follow him. A few of us were hoping that God gave some of our loved ones that have died another chance to follow him.
This should be an interesting thread.

I love those kind. :>)
I'll ck in again whem I get up for real.
I believe in a last dying chance even for the worst of us -- Hitler, Stalin, Mao, bin Laden, Planned Parenthood, etc. --but I also believe in Purgatory.
For those who sin grievously but TRULY repent, even at the last possible moment, there is salvation ... But it takes a while ... A looooooooong while.
Oh, you mean hELL.
Hebrews 9:27
Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment,
As the adage says, as long as there is life, there is hope. In fact, I think the poor late Floridian Terri Schindler used to say that before she was stricken (by whom?) in 1990.
There is a quote by some saint that says that the floors of hell are paved with the skulls of bishops. So I guess that would indicate that no one is exempt. Everyone has as chance at ending up in hell or in heaven.
My feeling is this...God gives us all free will but He also knows a priori how we will exercise it. If there is a hell (which I was taught is the absence of both God and hope) then why would God create souls that He knows will behave in such a manner as to be condemned?
In Matthew Jesus describes the path the heaven as narrow and that few shall find it. A plain reading of that tells me most are damned. Assuming one is saved, how could one be happy in heaven, knowing loved ones are suffering eternal torment?
I've come to the conclusion that part of human nature is to deny truth..I'm pretty sure that gets you in the lost club, but that might not be all of it.
I have a hard time believing devout, God loving Jews will roast because I was a terrible witness to them.
