Navy Lakehurst Historical Society trustees and naval airship vets C. C. Moore and John Iannacone flank visitor Dick Widdicombe, a former navy blimp test pilot, at the opening of the NLIC.
May 8, 2004 .. Thomas Worsdale, Public Affairs Officer for Naval Air Engineering Station Lakehurst, chats with USS Los Angeles vet John Iannacone in the newly-opened Navy Lakehurst Information Center in Hangar One.
The airship history of Lakehurst's air station is well-represented in the new Navy Lakehurst information Center which opened May 8.

I live near Lakehurst NAS, and have had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Iannacone on several occasions. A very nice man, and an interesting person to talk with. I last saw him two years ago at Lakehurst. They have a ceremony every year on May 6th to commemorate the anniversary of the Hindenburg disaster. I have attended this event several times over the years, and have had the opportunity to hear Mr. Iannacone tell the story of his experience on the fateful evening. Rest in Peace, John.
