A rape suspect is in critical condition after being fended off by his intended victim.
Police Special Victims Unit Captain John Darby says when the 30-year old woman said no thanks, the man forced his way into her West Haines Street home and started to rape her in front of her two year old child.
"At some point she was able to talk the male into interrupting the attack so that she could place the child upstairs in the bedroom in safety."
That was the moment she needed. She went away with the child and came back with a knife which she plunged into the man's chest.
Police say ran off and collapsed on the street where police escorted him to Einstein hospital. He's expected to live to face charges.

Most single women are a little reluctant to have a gun lying around A gun? Yes, as a single woman I'd be reluctant to have just "a" gun around. Several guns. . .that's a different story.

Reminds me of a rather feisty young lass I once dated. She told me that she once got sexually harassing telephone calls from a guy who told her he "wanted to get into her pants". She replied, "Why, did you s**t in yours". He never called back. Lucky for him. She was a good shot.

In most cases, a kick to the groin definitely will put them down to give you a chance to get away, although, it can take up to 7 seconds to have full effect. Be prepared to land a strong palm heel strike to the nose just to be sure he doesn't get up. That will drop them instantly, I promise.

She should not have done this. The victim was kind enough to let her remove the child. Instead of removing him/her and calling the police, then returning and allowing him to peacefully proceed until help arrived, she has now endangered all future rapees, whose rapists will remember this vicious duplicity... ...and he was always such a good boy, who was busy turning his life around, but has now been brutally traumatized by this vicious attack from a mean, spiteful woman who thinks more of her self than she values enlightened social responsibility.../lib speak>
Hope it hurts like Hell every time he takes a breath, and that the nurses crack jokes every second they're in his room.

Phew! Thank you.
Someone should add: . . . but if you do bring one, do not, under any circumstances, lead with it.

Dad talked me into a .32 Baretta Tomcat ... nice little pistol. It's a pre-Christmas gift and we went to pick it out together. He was able to take it home since he has a CWP. We're going to the range this weekend.

Well, there you go;although I kind of like the .380 if one must use a small gun.
Let him who has no sword sell his cloak and buy one.
Here's wishing you never have to use it but are always ready to if necessary.
