Get These Guns Off The Street, Slain Kid's Ma Weeps (NY Post's hysterical anti-gun crusade: Day 3)

HE WAS just a kid. On the day he died, Fernando Correa "Fernandito" to his mama did not fear the teen who was harassing him.
His mom warned him against leaving the house. But Fernando shrugged her off. For he was a gentle, 200-pound football star at Alfred E. Smith Vocational HS in The Bronx. He was too big. And his foe was too young.
"He told me, 'Mommy, he's just a kid like me! He's not gonna have a gun,' " Evelyn Ortiz remembered. "And that's the last words I heard from him," Evelyn said.
And she cried. "In two minutes, he was gone..." < snip >
Like Fernando, Officer Dillon Stewart died when senseless rage formed a combustible combination with easy access to firearms.
Where does it end?
"Terrible. Terrible," Evelyn moaned about the latest shooting. "These guns have to come off the street."
"He was 16 years old," Evelyn cried. "Where did he get a gun?" But she knows the answer. Guns are all too easy to get. And even simpler to use.
"I hate guns," Evelyn said. And as she does every day, she replayed her son's death in her head. Over and over again.
"Something has to be done. The guns. The gangs. It's bad. I wish there were no guns. I wish the law said that no people should ever have guns. Just the cops..."
Evelyn spoke to me from Florida, where she has fled with her two other children: Abigail, who is 16, and Daniel, 12. Although Florida has notoriously lax gun-control laws, she feels safer there... < snip >
How many more sons must die?
When will we get rid of the guns?

It looks as if the NY Post has decided to switch sides again, and there will now be three liberal newspapers in New York, not counting Newsday.

Anyone notice the contradiction here?
First this...
"I wish the law said that no people should ever have guns. Just the cops..."
Then this....
But his family was unable to get authorities to protect him. "I couldn't get the cops to listen to me," complained his mother. '
So you want the cops to have guns, even though they won't listen to or protect you? Wake up you dumb quiff.

"These morons are so brain dead it isn't funny! They should not be allowed to breed, let alone have ANY vote/say in what the laws are!"
It is really all part of Darwin's theory of survival of the fittest. Any community with folks stupid enough to believe in Gun Control as the answer, will die. Unfortunately for the rest of us, the stupid laws affect everyone. That is why I won't live in a Gun Control (Communist) State for much longer.

Um...wouldn't the problem then be NYC, not the guns?
The NYP is good for a NY paper. But they do weird stuff. For example, they drank the McCain koolaid during the 2000 campaign and became completely ridiculous over Him.

WHAT? Has anyone tried to buy a gun lately. The prices are high and government background check are invasive. Event the illegal ones are at least $500 for a stolen pea shooter.
I know she is speaking about illegally gotten guns, but there is no way that a new law would have prevented her tragedy. It is the motives of EVIL people that harmed her son not the weapon. Maybe if the slime who murdered her son would have feared the criminal justice system the murder boy would be alive.

This is part of a carefully constructed plan to ban the sale of guns in other states. MA has already said so.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. NOBODY gets the mileage out of a corpse like a liberal.
Liberals will manufacture martyrs out of anyone only if it will further their cause for big government.
It's almost like the Wellstone memorial/rave party. However I have to admit that the memorial for Wellstone was fitting tribute to the man somewhat. A self-congradualtory liberal moonbat being celebrated by other self-congradualtory liberal moonbats.

(One Wellstone memorial (rave party) is enough, thank you!)

The logic makes perfect sense to me.
Cars cause accidents.
Victims cause crime.
The US causes terrorism.
Wealth causes poverty.
Guns kill people.
Accidents cause preagnancy.
Jews caused the holocaust.
See how leftist logic works? People are just victims of circumstance.
