Now, there's proof: Men, women different

By Jennifer Harper

Attention, Dr. Frankenstein, and maybe Gloria Steinem: There are girl brains, then there are boy brains. But there's not one generic human brain, no matter what hand-wringing feminists may insist in their quest for sexual equality.

Some stark new clinical evidence shows that men and women are just not the same upstairs.

"The comedians are right. The science proves it. A man's brain and a woman's brain really do work differently," a research team from the University of Alberta in Canada announced yesterday.

After analyzing magnetic resonance imaging (MRIs) of 23 men and 10 women, the team found that the sexes use different areas of the brain even when working on exactly the same task.

"The larger implications of this work is that we may increasingly find out that there are differences in the 'hard wiring' of male and female brains," said study author Dr. Peter Silverstone, a psychiatrist.

Though Dr. Silverstone hopes that these revelations will lead to more innovative ways to treat depression and other mental illnesses, these findings might one day explain certain persistent behaviors that make for a more lively existence.

Why do men, for example, refuse to ask for directions while women are busy peering at maps and landmarks during the same automobile journey? Why do women cry and men sleep through a sappy movie? Could it be that old hard-wiring?

During the Canadian study, volunteers were given memory, language, spatial and coordination tests while their brains were monitored through the MRIs.

[The study makes another major blow to the Feminist. Men and women need each other.]

Truth makes no difference with the radical feminist; control and power is what drives their agenda, near as I can tell.

Why do men, for example, refuse to ask for directions while women are busy peering at maps and landmarks during the same automobile journey?

This is such a cheap pun on men. Truth is, on long trip dates, women never help when driving (some even claim they cannot read maps, empowered in passive aggressivness but have a right to be blind and stupid)...

Why are men less likely to be robbed, kidnapped and raped?

Doesn't Canuckistan's create long waiting lines for expensive equipment like MRI's? My understanding is that there is a significant waiting list. How many people with possible head injuries had to sit by waiting for an MRI for this test in the socialist paradise?

Answer: they are just too busy trying to find some reason to justify homosexual monogamy... or some other reason to perpetuate welfare statism.

I got news for these geniuses, they aren't the same downstairs either.

I should get a grant and do that research.

Give me a million dollars and me and my wife will do clinical trials.

"...he found that men have more than six times the amount of gray matter -- which controls information processing -- in their brains as women do."

However; women actually USE theirs.

A lot of men think with their gonads, so the study is flawed to begin with...

shaggy eel writes:
,,, more than twice as many men than women for the purpose of this research. What does that say? How long will it take for transgenders to crave inclusion in this research?

What would be _more_ interesting is to apply the same testing to some true trans-sexuals (i.e., males who have had surgery to "become" female and vice versa), and to see which gender _their_ brain patterns resemble.

Also, to male homosexuals. I would reckon that the brain patterns of the most effeminite (sp) gay males more closely resemble that of females than they do that of males (even though, from the head down, they are "male").

The same may be true for very "butch" lesbians...

OK, just got this from a friend...And it's so true!

How to treat a woman:

Wine her.
Dine her.
Call her.
Hold her.
Surprise her.
Compliment her.
Smile at her.
Listen to her.
Laugh with her.
Cry with her.
Encourage her.
Believe in her.
Pray with her.
Pray for her.
Cuddle with her.
Shop with her.
Give her jewelry.
Buy her flowers.
Hold her hand.
Write love letters to her.
Go to the ends of the earth and back again for her.(?)

How to treat a man:

Show up naked.
Bring chicken wings.
Don't block the TV

You guys drive with the wrong women.

Why do men want young, high-maintenance chickadees?

Men have a section in their brain which has a better "compass" in it than women have.

Men needed it to find food and get back home.

In that same space, women have yet ANOTHER "communications" section.

Women needed it to be able to multi-task while her mate was out finding food.

HOORAH FOR THE DIFFERENCE! We make great partners but bad enemies.

If this study bears fruit, it may provide munition for the arguement of people being born gay. That is, if it can be proved that gay men have the same physiological traits within their brains that match those of women. Otherwise, homosexuality can go back to being categorized for the mental illness it is and always has been.

In other words, it's either a mental illness, or a birth defect

Guys are evolutionarily hard-wired to be attracted to healthy women in their prime child-bearing years

Many such women are "high-maintenance" because they know their current guy will put up with it, and if not they can find another guy who will (for a while). An unfortunate few continue to think they can get away with being high-maintenance past 100K miles

You're very right about compass vs multi-tasking

My wife can't figure out how I can manage to find my way back to where we need to be upon getting a bit lost (being able to keep track of what direction I'm supposed to go in until I get to the road I need), while I'm driven nuts by her assumption that I should be able to receive her comments while conducting another conversation on the phone

I'm guessing that back in hunter-gatherer days, women had an advantage if they could communicate with multiple other women while going thru an area looking for edible stuff.

Meanwhile the hunters had to shut up (so as not scare away the game), and still be able to find base camp again after chasing dinner over hills and thru the woods too quickly to keep track of directions
