VETERANS' TRUTH PROJECT Recent Veterans: We Need Your Stories
Why? Because these are stories every American needs to hear.
When it comes to military service, most Americans just don’t get it. Why should they? Only soldiers know about the REAL military, the military that doesn’t get shown on the evening news or featured in recruitment commercials. The result?
• Kids keep signing up without knowing what it’s really like. • Veterans keep coming home to communities that don’t understand what they have been through. • Americans go about their daily lives, oblivious to the fact that a WAR is being fought on the other side of the world.
Without stories, the deaths in the morning paper are just numbers.
The Veterans’ Truth Project is a collection of writers, performers, and recent veterans who are working collaboratively to adapt soldiers’ stories into a performance piece that could be used by any theater group in any community. Why community theater? Because these stories need to be personal, and performance invites the audience to experience the story for themselves.
In the tradition of raising awareness and giving voice through performance, the Veterans’ Truth Project seeks to portray in an original script the realities of military service and war as told by recent veterans. A collection of writers, performers, and recent veterans, the VTP spans cities (Ithaca, NY and Portland, ME) working collaboratively to adapt soldiers’ stories into a performance piece that will be performed in many areas of the Northeast where veterans are.

We want to hear from soldiers and veterans of any rank, any branch, and any length of service. If you were in the military in the last 15 years, we want to hear what you have to say, whether it’s a memorable story, a defining experience, insight, thoughts on the military, etc. All responses will kept 100% confidential.

I will be right on it. I am sure they will be just peachy with what I send them.
Just sent them an email,not what they want to read I suspect.
THe problem is..if they hear the vets TRUE feelings, they will do with that info the same as was done by CBS (or was it ABC or NBC) with the words of the young soldier who died on his third tour. They totally left out his statement that he believed what he was doing, and only put in the sentence that said he was in his third tour..
