That's a good idea.
I do believe however these attempts by the secularists to remove God will impact Jews just as much. Same God. Whether you read Isaiah or Daniel They both tell us what the future holds for us when mankind rejects God. We can already see the results Godlessness is bringing.
Happy Hannukah.

Shaken, not stirred?!!?!? :)

Not shaken - I'm Jewish AND conservative so stirring it up comes naturally!

"Rabbi Daniel Lapin's Dad, was MY Rabbi at one point in Cape Town, South Africa."
If his dad was anything like him, then his dad must have been great! Every time I read an article by Rabbi Daniel Lapin posted by Alouette or someone else, I find myself applauding. He hits the nail on the head about a lot of issues! Quite a few other Christians at FR feel the same way!

My understanding from reading the Word is that Jesus kept ALL Jewish laws and holy days and Chanukah (The Feast of Dedication) was no different.

No he didn't. That's a rediculous thing to say. Yes he did. Jesus was a totally observant Jew. He had to be to fulfill the law.

He had a lawyer on that with another 500 lawyers ready to defend any town or anyone who has to go against the aclu. Then there was a minister who has asked his church to spend money at the stores where they say merry christmas and the holiday word. That show was SO GOOD! It was inspirational. So unlike the previous night when the Commie lady wanted to undo the federal holiday and that goofy guy kept giggling.

I have several Jewish friends and when I do Christmas cards, I specially buy a few Happy Holidays cards to send them instead of the traditional Christmas card.
From Christian friends, I prefer receiving a traditional Madonna (the real One!) with Child to one of dancing elves anyday. (She was Jewish you know.)

Absolutely it will impact Jews...no question about that. It will impact anyone other than Muslims. They're allowed outward diosplays of their religion. Example, the calling to prayer 5 times a day in a neighborhood in Michigan. The neighbors are going nuts with the noise.

>>>>>>No sir, all the Jewish holidays have been banished to an Orwellian memory hole except for one, and that one is remembered only as a sort of Jewish "kwanzaa" to promote multiculturalism.
This is precisely why we hear so much about Hanukkah. Some people don't like to hear this, but the fact reamains that one of the first successful acts of political correctness was the elevation of Hanukkah to an eqaul of Christmas, when it is not--either from a theological, cultural, or historical perspective. Christmas is the second most important feast on the Christian calendar; Hanuakkah is a minor festival, with no basis in the canonical Hebrew Bible.

Several years ago a co-worker gave me a nicely wrapped present. She explained that she and her family were Hindu and didn't celebrate Christmas. Well, I didn't want to be rude and tell her I don't celebrate Christmas either, so the next day I brought a gift for her. :)

I depend heavily on FreeRepublic to let me know exactly when Hanukkah starts By an unusual coincidence, Hanukkah begins this year on the night of December 25. It normally occurs earlier in the month.

You guys fascinate me.
Devout Christian believers who believe Jesus was the foretold Jewish Messiah but then de facto deny that he was Jewish or acted as a Jewish.
Was the Last Supper a Passover Seder? If he celebrated Passover why would you think he didn't celebrate every other Jewish observance.
When, according to you, did he stop celebrating Hanukkah? Was it celebrated at his home when he was a child?
If you knew anything about Judaism, you would know how derivative Christianity is of Judaism.

I am a man, but if it's Mother's Day, and you want to wish me a Happy Mother's Day, feel free. It won't hurt my feelings a bit.
