A Belgian woman carried out a bomb attack in IRAQ earlier this month, Belgian prosecutors said, according to BBC.
The woman's Belgian passport was found on her body after the attack on a U.S. military convoy in Baghdad on November 9, the De Standaard newspaper reported. The explosion killed more than seven people, including the bomber.
Reports say the womans husband have been killed in Iraq in a separate incident.
Other European nationals have travelled to Iraq to fight the U.S.-led occupation forces, but the Belgian woman was the first female European bomber.
On Wednesday, Belgian police detained more than 14 people thought to have links with the unidentified woman.
Nine of the arrested are Belgian, three are Moroccan and two are Tunisian.
Belgian justice authorities were expected to announce on Thursday whether the suspects would be held in custody.
Security officials said they wanted to dismantle a network sending fighters to Iraq.
Wednesdays raids "were the result of an accelerated four-month investigation, based on information from police and intelligence services which show the presence in Belgium of ... structures to help people wishing to voluntarily fight in Iraq, said federal police director Glenn Audenaert, according to AFP.
"People coming from Belgium took part in an attack or attacks in Iraq and others were getting ready to go. Audenaert added.
