The appointment of Susan Kennedy as Chief of Staff to the Governor is a betrayal of the hard working activists that supported the Governor during the recent special election. Kennedy has a track record as an active partisan Democrat that has worked contrary to Republican candidates and beliefs.
Those of us who supported the recall of Gray Davis now find one of his top operatives, Susan Kennedy as the leader of Schwarzenegger staff. Not only did she work for Davis, but Kennedy is plagued by her involvement in the Oracle scandal.
This is a dangerous false start for the Governor, not a fresh start.
The California Republican Assembly Board of Directors will be voting on a resolution calling for the California Republican Party's withdrawal of their pre-primary endorsement of the Governor.
This is true.
I voted for all of his initiatives.
I don't blame Arnold for anything other than surrounding himself with too many Lib/Dems. I know he's doing the best he can under very difficult circumstances. However, making that radical his chief of staff is a deal breaker for me.
"However, making that radical his chief of staff is a deal breaker for me."

I had the same reaction, until I cooled off and started to consider the alternatives, at which point I am looking at it that Arnold may have dropped in the overall assessment scale, say from 85 to 60, but any Dem who would get elected has a value of some -500 and dropping, because in today's environment, they would claim they have a justification to raise taxes signifantly, probably even getting read of Prop. 13 protection and we would really rue the day, when they got in. And we narrowly dodged the bullet, I think Arnold actually vetoed that socialized medicine bill the Dems passed.
However, the woman Arnold appointed is his CHIEF OF STAFF, the top appointed position in his inner circle. She's a radical Leftist. Not only will she have considerable power, but Arnold has given a huge boost to her career.
I'm sorry, FairOpinion. You and I agree much of the time, and I respect you. But this is a line I can't cross with you.
Yes, they are and we all are big losers.
The real problem, as I see it, can't be fixed. We can't unring the recall bell. So we're stuck with what we have, and there's much more that will play out before the next election.
"we're stuck with what we have, and there's much more that will play out before the next election."

We certainly agree on this one.
Well, shucks, FO. If your gay socialist buddy, assemblyman Laird, says it is so, then it must be!
Given your GLBT support, I suppose the appointment of Ms. Kennedy is considered another "win" to you.
"Given your GLBT support, "

It seems I have to be really blunt with you: PLEASE STOP LYING ABOUT ME.
Mebbe thats your problem - how about Arnold arguing convincingly enough to win over a few in the 'mushy middle' of his party?
If you're dependimg on the 'far right' to win elections in CAlifornia, you'll be waiting awhile. There's only so many of us.
You 'country clubs' types need to find another scapegoat...
(Denny Crane: "I Don't Want To Socialize With A Pinko Liberal Democrat Commie.Say What You Like About Republicans. We Stick To Our Convictions. Even When We Know We're Dead Wrong.")
You crack me up - "how about Arnold arguing convincingly enough to win over a few in the 'mushy middle' of his party?
"
Arnold has to argue with, and convince Republicans that they should vote for parental notification ?
But you're absolutely correct in your other statement - "If you're dependimg on the 'far right' to win elections in CAlifornia, you'll be waiting awhile."
Which is why any attempt to push a far right candidate is a waste of effort, and guarantees a Democrat win.
YOU KEEP LYING ABOUT ME. STOP IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You keep calling me a "supporter of the GLBT agenda", even though I asked you to stop making up lies about me, since nothing I have said justifies your lies.
I pointed out that Arnold vetoed the homosexual marriage bill, passed by the Dem legislature, which was the most important bill to veto.
Nobody in their right mind consideres the above statement as "expressing support" for the GLBT or whatever agenda.
You are just so desperate that you can't rebut my factual and logical arguments, that you are resorting to pathetic lies, which only reflect back at you. Anyone reading my posts can see very clearly where I stand on issues.
Do not call me a liar because of what you posted. Your record stands on its own, FO. Actions which enable the leftists to advance their agenda is support. You stated that legislation giving more rights to homosexuals is "mere crumbs" (as you posted on multiple occasions), and excuse it because it is "less important" than the gay-marriage bill.
These aren't crumbs. Remember the list? AB 2600, the Unruh Civil Rights Act: marital status and sexual orientation; SB 973, Public employees' retirement: domestic partners; SB 565, Property tax reappraisal exclusion: domestic partners, etc.
..one could say we get the government in CA we deserve, but to Arnold's credit, he did try to reform things. CA doesn't want change--it just wants more!
We sure can. Wherever Arnold tells you to, regardless of the contortions it takes.
If that doesn't cure your "Arnold obsession" nothing will.
"Actions which enable the leftists to advance their agenda is support."
Does that include NOT giving full support to someone attempting to pass conservative legislation because HE is looked on as not being worthy, and thereby giving a victory to the leftists in defating those props ?
