O'Reilly just tried to make up some nonsense (as always) about Iraq and Vietnam. O'Reilly's guest was Lt. Gen. Mcinerney, who explained to BOR that it takes years to develop good company, battalion and division commanders and this will take 5 to 10 years to achieve in Iraq.
O'Reilly pontificates and tells Mcinerney that in Vietnam our advisors ran the South Vietnamese units and we just trained the Vietnamese footsoldiers and that worked pretty good and we should do the same in Iraq and the real problem is we don't have enough Iraqi "riflemen" to take orders from our advisors like we did in Vietnam and "isn't that right?"
It was beautiful when Mcinerney said calmly "No, I don't think it is right" and Mcinerney further explains that HE WAS an advisor in Vietnam and he NEVER commanded the Vietnamese units, they of course had their own leaders and he only gave them advice and support.
O'Reilly being what he is, he of course interrupted Mcinerney and somehow pretended he hadn't just been smashed in the face with his own pie, and switched to the other guest. O'Reilly makes up so much based on his own egotistic bloviating it was great watching someone who knew what they were talking about calmly tell O'Reilly he's full of it.
There must be a Newbie convention in town.
He lives heyah in Bahston and is surrounded by liberal aholes all day every day! I think Col. Hunt was a good guy till some Hahvud snot got a hold of him!
BTW we are having a Bush hating demonstration here tomorrow.
Some d*ckhead race pimp Professor named Anthony
something is telling Boston school kids they should take the day off to "celebrate Rosa Parks!" the anniversary of her refusal to give up her bus seat etc..etc..
They are apparently afraid they won't have a good crowd since people DO work!
ANSWER is just one of the participants,/sponsors !
The MAYAH is too chicken to take a stand.
The "children" (20 year old sophomores from Madison Park with lots of guns who kill each other several times daily )
will only be marked "absent" per the school Commish.
Don't go in town tomorrow if you can avoid it at 11 AM!
It will not be a safe place to be!
He played his own appearance on the Today Show...where he tells Katie Couric...that he is NOT going to watch the president's speech on TV...because he doesn't care what President Bush says....and that it isn't important...
THAT's when I turned it off..
Especially with his "put the military on the border" nonsense.
"that he is NOT going to watch the president's speech on TV...because he doesn't care what President Bush says....and that it isn't important..."
he is not my favorite either, but he did a good job on the Today show, except for his one remark about being able to train a solider in 6 weeks.
~LOL~ I didn't mean it literally.
I didn't either. I like to inject a little humor into my posts as often as possible. You're a good sport.

Then I remembered wrong. I'm 1,192.
BOR=Turd
Thanks to hole_in_one, I've discovered that I had remembered wrong. I'm 1.192.
See hole_in_one's #43.
Could it be that I heard what O'Reilly said and heard the Lt. General call him out on it based on the general's personal knowledge and experience? Even I knew we cannot solve Iraq's military needs by training "riflemen" in six weeks and having every facet of the Iraqi army commanded by Americans.
Knowing what I know now, I wish I'd joined when I started lurking here. I clicked on the Whitewater link on Drudge, so it was before FR started keeping track of registration dates. AFAIK, they started that in November of 1997.
But I think I remember reading posts back in the late summer / early fall of 1997.
Second major complaint is that after being recorded trying to get a young female coworker to do rather perverse phone sex with him, O'Reilly is such a phoney egotist that he still sits there and says he represents the traditional moral values of "the folks" out there. And he says stuff like that a lot even after we know he's a sleaze. To me the hypocricy is disgusting.
Those numbers are incorrect. :-)

I actually watched O'Reilly tonite. He does serve some sort of purpose. He appeals to the mainstream viewer that likes their news in sound bites.
And in that regard, I think O'Reilly has informed alot of people.
I'm not sticking up for Bill, I have expoused the same views about him as you have, but when I watched him tonite I had to consider that he does convey some conservative ideas to uninformed viewers, that to you, or other informed politicos, may be considered pablum.
IOW, beats Dan Rather.
Have the words: "bite me" been used lately?? :-)
I know, I know, It sucks to be me!
