The president outlined his strategy for victory in Iraq at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. He met with VFW Commander-in-Chief Jim Mueller and Secretary of Vetrens Affairs Jim Nicholson in the Oval.
Laura Bush gave the media a tour of the holiday decor at the White House.
Welcome to Sanity Island!
Amen to EVERY word, Mike! This is the greatest leader in our lifetime.
Yay Tommix2 on getting the toaster!
What's the weather doing out your way?
The Democrats hate George W. Bush precisely because he is very effective. Think about it. If George W. Bush were dumb, ineffective, and a poor leader. The Democrats would love him.
It is human nature. A big winner in any contest almost always says very nice things about the person they destroyed. They will often describe them as very skilled and worthy opponents. After all there is not much stature to be gained by beating a real boob.
But on the other hand, someone that defeats his opponents repeatedly must either be portrayed as superior to opponents or the opponents must show him as an evil person who uses immoral means to achieve his goals.
He beat us fair and sqare is not somthing political opponents are won't to say.
In 2000 George Bush beat an Al Gore that according to precedent should have beaten Dubya the way Bush41 beat Dukakis. In 2002 when history showed that the incumbent presidents party should lose seats, it gained seats and took control of the Senate.
In 2004, Kerry should have won.. But he got beat and Bush's party picked up seats again.
They have to make president Bush into terrible person worthy of their hate, or admit they are inferior to George W. Bush.
Democrats hating George W. Bush is not surprising.. it is just human nature. Such reactions have been taking place since the beginning of time. It is the best possible proof of his abilities and accomplishments.
I would invite everyone to study how our most effective presidents were treated by their opponents in their own time.
The things said about Jackson, Lincoln, and Truman come to mind. We know them in them light of historical perspective. How they were often described by their opponents in their own time would curl my hair.. if I had enough left to curl... but that is another sad tale.
I mailed the transcript to a friend who was out today and missed the speech so I'll have to go back and look at it. But there was some statement in today's superb speech about how some Iraqi troops are more trained than some of our Nato allies. (I think that's what he said).
The left is really in a bind now and listening to Rush replay Kerry's statements that not one Democrat has asked for a timetable to withdraw had me on the floor. What a bald faced liar Kerry is.
Oh thank you for finding that picture. It is my favorite picture too. I'll be glad when they can come back to Wyoming after a job well done.
We must pray for this President, he needs our prayers
BINGO, I agree 100%, Politicians hate real leaders because it exposes their own weaknesses
I just finished watching for the third time. What an amazing man, leader, commander .....
I just got a call from my Dad that my stepmother, Sandy, is in the hospital. A cat scan revealed "a mass" on the outside area of her brain. I humbly ask for your prayers for this wonderful woman, who is my Father's best friend. Thank you.
But I would add to them the element of good vs. evil. The modern day left wants to murder babies and destroy morality.
George W. Bush.......in addition to being a strong and effective leader who beats the Dems at every turn, also stands firm for the power of GOOD, and they can't stand him for it.
LOVE these photos!!
My sister and I attended the very nice event for Michael Steele and the President today. Lots of energy and enthusiasm in the room for a seriously good candidate for Senator.
It was held at M&T Bank [Ravens] Stadium on the Club level. Two parking lots north of the stadium were cleared and used as helipads, so we stood at glass walls (like at an airport) and watched Marine One and its escorts land. Then the motorcade drove up to the helicopter, collected the President - after he waved to all of us (LOL! from a block away!) - and saluted the Marine at the foot of the helo's steps - and drove him into the stadium. He met with folks who paid $5000 for the opportunity of a photograph with him, then he came out and spoke to a crowd full of happy people, including us, who paid much less just to be there, have some lunch and see him. His voice was great and his remarks were so positive.
Ditto! Thank you for the beautiful tribute to this great man.
I truly do not believe they even consider what he says or does .. it's all about being arbitrary.
MY 2nd Thought About W's Speech Today: Imagine how comforted and heartened the Iraqi people are to hear him say they won't be abandoned.
Prayers are on the way my friend
Thanks for the time of Dubya's speech. I got to the TV just in time to see and hear him.
Great comments
He knows that his decision to go to war has meant the sacrifice of some of America's finest............but he also knows that if we didn't go to war, many more innocent lives would be lost.
None of us will ever be able to understand the burden he bears.........and you're right. The most powerful thing we can do for him is to PRAY WITHOUT CEASING.
Prayers for your stepmother and the rest of your family.
