The Left’s Secret Pact: Subverting the War on Terror
The American Thinker ^ | 11/30/05 | Tom Milstein

Posted on 11/30/2005 7:22:52 AM PST by Kitten Festival

The War on Terror has brought on many complex problems and challenges. Perhaps none is more critical than the conduct of the political Left which is apparently set on sabotaging our efforts. Unable to come up with a logical explanation, political observers either throw up their hands in bewilderment or ascribe rhw Left’s posture to some irrational nihilistic impulse. But such conclusions are neither satisfactory nor correct.

The Left’s sabotage of this war is a deliberate attempt to give relief to the other side. This is because their corresponding views on capitalism and the West make Islamic radicals and the Left natural allies. The Left seeks to weaken us from within in order to help those whose shared worldview binds them in a common pact. Once we understand the nature of this stealth partnership, the reasons behind the Left’s often seemingly inexplicable actions will become alarmingly apparent.

But to do so, we must start at the beginning.

For reasons we need not go into here, some people in capitalism develop an aversion toward it. Needless to say, it can be seen and felt in many places – at anti-establishment rallies, globalization protests, in the ranks of our cultural and intellectual elites, among radical activists, and the movies of Michael Moore to mention just a few – where capitalism is spoken of as evil, exploitative, alienating, dehumanizing and such.

This hatred gives rise to the urge to strike out.

David Horowitz explains this in great detail in his excellent book, "Unholy Alliance".

no they only pretend to develop an aversion toward capitalism...they are in it (and making lots of money) up to their ears. They pretend in order to further their agenda and engage class warfare on the backs of the moon bat left.

The Democrat dementia began in 2000 with the narrow defeat of Al Gore. Despite all evidence to the contrary from friends and foes, they accused the incoming Bush administration of having stolen the election. They decided then and there that this was an "illegitimate" President and they would do everything in their power to prove that he was.

Then, 9/11 happened. 9/11 was the worst possible thing that could have happened to the Democrats. It gave the President a claim to legitimacy that they found, at the time, difficult to assail. They could not come right out and claim he was illegitimate any more. At least not right after such a national disaster. So they waited.

As the President's poll numbers went up and up, the Democrats got angrier and angrier. They even complained openly that this should have been President Clinton's shot at glory. Finally, utterly frustrated and unable to bear the President's success any longer, they came to the self-serving and calculated conclusion that if they were to bring this "illegitimate" President down and regain their rightful place as the majority ruling elite, they would have to label this "War on Terror" as illegitimate as well.

That is why they oppose this war. It is a political calculation and nothing more. It doesn't matter to them if they are indirectly supporting the terrorists or not. It doesn't matter that the terrorists themselves see the Democrats as their best hope for victory against America. Their whole focus is on bringing down a President that they can't stand, personally or politically. The cost is irrelevant. It's not necessarily that they want America to lose (although many on the Left evidently do wish this) but that George W. Bush loses. It's personal. It's pathological and the concerns of the country come in a distant second to their angry and destructive conceit.

...or, the integrity, the virtue, the love of country, the love of freedom...the love of God.

Good graphic.

Total B.S. and over intellecutalization. The left hates Bush because he beat their asses twice. This is revenge, plain and simple.

I have made this point many, many times on this forum. This is EXACTLY the reason the Left is supporting the Islamic radicals. We foolishly thought that the defeat of the Soviet Union was THE defeat of the Socialist movement. In fact, they hardly lost a step - they just looked around for new allies in the war to achieve their imaginary One World Nirvana.
