Why do they write from the point of view of the bad guys? This was a successful self defense.

The place is a pawnshop that I have bought a couple of guns from (the last one was just a month or two ago). The owner and his partner walk around with a revolver on their hips. Evidently they also know how to use them. It was more than stupid for those kids to try this.
The paper has very few details right now other than the kid killed had a long list of arrests and a few convictions. I have no idea why they are being so closed-mouth about this, but at least no one is spouting off that the owner should be arrested like they do back east.

From the radio reports on KFAB this morning, it sounded as if the perps tried to hold the owner or his wife hostage and the parter intervened.

Kendal, we hardly knew ye. Think of the golden horizon of crime and mayhem they had stretching out before them - ended in a moment by VIOLENT and GUN WIELDING citizens!

Another happy ending.

Benson is an older, working-class neighborhood that is slowly succumbing to the Blight. The gangs have moved in, the houses are starting to go, the businesses are getting seedier, where they stay at all. Another generation and it will be Beirut. It's a classic case of The Culture Liberalism Built.
However, the contributions of these two particular anthropoids have been prematurely curtailed.

Dad just called me and told me about this! I hope the shop owner doesn't get into trouble; you know how anti-gun they are downtown here.

The radio just reported the names and what happened...seemed the Perps came in brandished a gun..one jumped over the counter..the other held folks at gun point...one store owner grabbed his gun - shooting both perps...one collapsed inside the store - he's not dead..(Darn)..the other made it outside and died in the street...it appears the shots were all INSIDE the property...
