It may be that the idea they were moved into Lebanon by the Syrians is complete bunk, though it seems plausible. Though I do question why none of Saddam's former officers who would have known of the movement haven't confirmed this, or at least that we know of. But SOMETHING happened to those weapons and Saddam never provided the answer. We need to ask what he did with them instead of constantly giving in to the left and saying "Oh yeah, Saddam never had any WMD" which is pure b.s. The left will even deny now that Saddam EVER had WMD. We must not cave in to their intellectual dishonesty.
There may not have been WMD in Iraq at the time of the invasion, but they were there at one time. What's become of them since is the giant black hole in the debate on pre-war intelligence.
To contact Sen. Rockefeller to tell him how you feel about his treasonous trip:

The word "Russia" does not appear anywhere in this article. It would seem that at least some of the weapons and materials were moved out of Iraq and across the border into Syria by Russian truck convoys with diplomatic immunity. Some of these convoys were still leaving even as our tanks were moving toward Baghdad from the south.
Presumably these last convoys would have included whatever WMDs remained in the country after the earlier removals. That also seems to have been what happened to the weapons cache that the NY Times made such a fuss about shortly before last year's election, in hopes of putting kerry over the top.

October 10, 2002 statement of Senator John D. Rockefeller IV on the Senate Floor.
"There is unmistakable evidence that Saddam Hussein is working aggressively to develop nuclear weapons and will likely have nuclear weapons within the next five years. And that may happen sooner if he can obtain access to enriched uranium from foreign sources -- something that is not that difficult in the current world. We also should remember we have always underestimated the progress Saddam has made in development of weapons of mass destruction."
Interesting that Joe Wilson went Feb 2002 to Niger.

Hey, I'm a left-leaning "liberal" and I'm tracking the WMD evidence... see http://apognosis.com/wikka.php?wakka=IraqiWMDevidence
So does Chris Hitchens, an avowed Socialist (Fabian Socialist, former Trotskyite, never Maoist or Stalinist)... see: http://www.hitchensweb.com

What's happened to them?... Are you joking?! "... perhaps Senator Rockefeller should step down from the Intelligence Committee until an investigation is complete. Perhaps Rockefeller should be tried and executed! He put democrat party empowerment above national and even global welfare and continues to fabricate crap daily to cover his seditious ass for the sake of his party's empowerment regardless of what it does to this nation!

Thank you, MikeA.

What is pathetic is that the largest circulated newspapers in WV are not mentioning any of Rockefeller's gaffes (that I have seen). I even emailed the Charleston paper and asked why they have not been covering this. Surprise! No reply! This even made the "Vent Line" and still no response! Wake up, WV!

This is a very very poorly written article, however, without beginning middle or end. If the author is trying to make a point, I don't know what it is.
Oh yeah one more thing, the Rockefeller's are not about this country; they are totally about power and money.
"I took a trip by myself in January of 2002 to Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Syria, and I told each of the heads of state that it was my view that George Bush had already made up his mind to go to war against Iraq -- that that was a predetermined set course which had taken shape shortly after 9/11." So spoke Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D-WV) on "Fox Sunday" on November 14, 2005, who at the time of his trip was chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence and is now its vice chairman.I'm sure he paid for the trip out of his own pocket. /sarc
