BAGHDAD, Iraq - Al-Jazeera broadcast an insurgent video Tuesday showing four peace activists taken hostage in Iraq, with a previously unknown group claiming responsibility for the kidnappings.

The Swords of Righteousness Brigade said the four were spies working undercover as Christian peace activists, Al-Jazeera said. The station said it could not verify any of the information on the tape.

The aid group Christian Peacemaker Teams has confirmed that four of its members were taken hostage Saturday.

German television broadcast photos Tuesday showing a blindfolded German woman being led away by armed captors in Iraq. Six Iranian pilgrims, meanwhile, were abducted by gunmen north of Baghdad.

This is rich..........they'll be singing a different tune when they're losing their heads by one of their heros wielding a dull knife.

Christian Peacemaker Teams places teams of trained peacemakers in crisis situations and militarized areas around the world. These teams host regular delegations of committed peace and human rights activists to conflict zones, who join teams in working with civilians to document abuses and develop nonviolent alternatives to armed conflict. The CPT Iraq Team has hosted a total of 120 people on sixteen delegations over the last three years.
They are a bunch of idiot Liberals, same kind as protested for unilateral disarmament in the 1980's against Reagan.
I say let this be a lesson to peace nuts, some times you have to kill evil, offering the other cheek to a killer does not work.

29 November, 2005: Iraq: Al Jazeera airs footage of 4 western hostages in Iraq

Arab Satellite channel Al Jazeera has broadcast a video made by a previously unknown militant group of four human rights activists taken hostage in Iraq.

The hostages, two Canadians, an American, and a British, were kidnapped in western Baghdad on Saturday.

The Swords of Truth Brigade claimed the hostages were undercover spies and showed the passport of the British man, 70-year-old Norman Kember.

No demands or specific threats against their lives were made in the tape.

Kember, who works for a US-based human rights group, was shown sitting on the floor with to three other men.

The others have not been identified by their organisation for their own safety.

The footage had a date stamp indicating that it was recorded on 27 November.

The video can be downloaded here, http://www.americanslink.com/j/Iraq_11272005.rmvb

Kind of ominous with the Arab swords hanging over their head as shown on Al Jazeera.

I kind of feel sorry for this clueless leftie, or at least her soon to be orphaned child.

Oh well, like they say in Iraq: "A fool and her head are soon parted."

They murdered that poor woman from Children's international, or whatever it was.

These terrorists must just laugh at these people, before they kill them. The terrorists don't want peace.

BTW, Rush is saying he thinks this is "a stunt". But the govt's involved don't seem to think that.

No Nick Burg was just a business man trying to make a quick buck repairing their cell phone towers, his Parents were peace nuts but I don't remember him being one. That was a real tragedy.

Would you say Christian Peacemaker Teams are missionaries spreading the Gospel or just leftist moon bats who use the word Christian as a smokescreen?

How very sad.

Misguided and naive? Yes. Deserving of the fate which they will surely suffer? Not in a million lifetimes.

I pray for their souls.

I read on another thread that she has been alienated for her family for some time, hasn't communicated with her parents for years and has also not seen the daughter (now 12) for years. She seems to have been in Iraq on some vague "humanitarian mission" since some time in 2002. So who knows what was going on?
