President Bush has reacted, rather than led, on many issues. He may actually now be moving to the right in response to the hue and cry over our neglected borders. I profoundly hope that he is. But I doubt that his personal position is redeemable. He has had almost five years to do something about the influx of illegal immigrants, and even the terrorist attack on the United States on September 11, 2001, by aliens in America, didn't get his attention--not in that direction.

The absurdity of fighting hostile foreigners in Asia, while no one effectively screens foreigners pouring over our Southern border, is so evident to so many, that we can pretty well resign ourselves to a very awkward time politically, unless we can find a candidate in 2008, who will both protect our borders--and well articulate why-- and distance himself from the politically correct but not very effective present Administration.

I don't mean to imply that our primary concern should be the Republican Party. Our primary concern must always be America and the continuity of our rooted civilization for our own people. But the Republican Party can still play an important role in that quest, if we can free it from those with limited perspective.

a) Bush is the biggest spender in American history
B) Illegal immigration

He could build the tallest wall, and when it failed to keep 'them' out, as it would... they'd just say he didn't build it tall enough.

You will find that I am the most devout ANTI-wall person you could imagine. But that does not take away from the fact that the inept and corrupt nitwits on my Texas border cannot control the current border crossings. The coyotes and smugglers OWN our federal agency. It would be more intellectually honest for the administration to budget $12 Billion to pay in bribes to the Mexican Federale's, the coyotes, and the smugglers.

The only time I will support a wall is if we build it on the Mexican side of the border. Never in Texas on private property. I have no problem with my government taking Mexican land to build a wall. Never Texas property owned by American citizens.

If Bush wants to make a gesture of good faith he should revoke Executive Order # 13166. Show everyone that he believes in assimilation. This order cost millions for federal and state governments. If you want people to assimilate the first step is a common language.

Enter Mexico illegally. Never mind immigration quotas, visas, international law, or any of that nonsense.

Once there, demand that the local government provide free medical care for you and your entire family.

Demand bilingual nurses and doctors.

Demand free bilingual local government forms, bulletins, etc. Procreate abundantly.

Deflect any criticism of this allegedly irresponsible reproductive behavior with,"It is a cultural United States thing. You would not understand, pal."

Keep your American identity strong. Fly Old Glory from your rooftop, or proudly display it in your front window or on your car bumper.

Speak only English at home and in public and insist that your children do likewise.

Demand classes on American culture in the Mexican school system.

Demand a local Mexican driver license. This will afford other legal rights and will go far to legitimize your unauthorized, illegal, presence in Mexico.

Insist that local Mexican law enforcement teach English to all its officers.

Good luck! You'll be demanding for the rest of time or soon dead. Because it will never happen.

It will not happen in Mexico or any other country in the world... Except right here. Land of the naive.

I have a solution.

Build walls on both borders. Every 50 miles or more, install immigration and naturalization compounds which illegals may go through. Once they have produced documentation, finger prints, etc. The INS then has lists of employers who want to employ the immigrants. The immigrants are matched up with the employer. Once they have reported to work the employer verifys their employment. They are allowed green cards to work for x amount of months in which time they have the opportunity to apply for citizenship, if they do not go through the process to become citizens, they are required to leave the country at the time the green card expires. If they do not and have to be rounded up, they will never be allowed back in to the country.

I don't want any such thing. I think Bush should be doing more. But the right place to direct anger is truly at Congress. They're the ones that need to act first so that Bush has something to sign.

But I'm also disappointed in 'our' side that just whines about the problem and doesn't come up with any real solutions either.
