The owner of one of two West Oakland corner markets vandalized last week for selling alcohol to African Americans was kidnapped shortly before his store burned in an arson fire Monday, police said.
The owner of New York Market, Tony Hamdan, was found safe about 12 hours after the fire gutted his store. Later Monday, Oakland police said they had identified six of the men who had destroyed liquor displays and toppled shelves at another market shortly before midnight Wednesday.
Deputy Police Chief Howard Jordan said investigators were seeking arrest warrants for six of the 10 or 11 men wearing bow ties and suits who were videotaped trashing San Pablo Liquor on San Pablo Avenue. The same men are believed to have vandalized New York Market about 12 blocks away, police said.
In both cases, the men demanded that the outlets stop selling liquor to African Americans, police said. The six men, whose names were not released, could face charges of terrorist threats, felony vandalism, conspiracy and robbery, Jordan said.
Police said it was too early to determine whether the kidnapping and the fire at New York Market were related to the vandalism.
The store at 3446 Market St. was reported ablaze at about 1:20 a.m. The fire was contained within 15 minutes, but much of the store's merchandise was destroyed.
Hamdan was kidnapped around the time of the fire, police said.

No mention in the part I read about prosecution for kidnapping which is, I believe, a federal offense. I have no doubt in my mind that this is the nation of islam at its best looking to eradicate businesses that are "controlled by the joos".
"It was too early to tell if the arson was related to the vandalism". So in Oakland they have so many of these kinds of crimes it takes a while to sort it out? Or, perhaps it was just a huge koinkydink? Right. And how come I have read that the Fruits of Islam is not suspect in this case? How many young blackmen wear white shirts and bow ties in their day to day life in the hood? Especially when the target is "alcohol", which the religion firmly denounces?
The answer to both is no.
In Oakland there was a man who called himself Yusef Bey who was a member of the Nation of Islam and who broke with Farrakhan because he felt that Farrakhan was too greedy.
Bey set up his own separate fiefdom of Black Islam to compete with the existing nation of Islam organization in the Bay Area.
Bey's group have essentially the same beliefs and attitudes as Farrakhan, only they believe that Bey and not Farrakhan is the true successor of Elijah Muhammad.
Bey's group is essentially an organized crime syndicate - businesses that do not pay protection to them or that do not give them a cut of their profits are torched or their owners are severely beaten. They operate a number of legitimate bakeries in which all their people are theoretically employed and they routinely beat and rob drugdealers and intimidate local criminals in order to keep the neighborhood safe and drug-free - which wins them street credibility.
Bey died recently and his son Antar was supposed to take over. However, Antar was murdered, most likely by rivals within the organization.
Now the Bey organization is effectively leaderless, there is infighting and several true believers in the organization appear to be declaring war on those they imagine to be predators on the black community.
Remember also that the Zebra murders - a series of racist murders targeting 71 whites and black people who were friendly with whites - took place in the Bay Area.
The police who worked the case have openly said that only some of the murderers - who were a cabal of Black Muslims and other black supremacists - were ever convicted.
Bey the father was suspected to have been one of the conspirators in those killings.
These people are extremely violent and dangerous and no longer have Bey (who was first and foremost a businesslike mobster) as a moderating influence on their impulses.

Last night on CNN... Paula Zahn asked some Nation of Islam bozo why they “couldn't boycott the liquor-stores instead”!
So where the hell is the FBI on this? Absolutely disgraceful that this is taking place in the U.S. Had this been a white "hate group," they would have been rounded up and locked away long ago.
Unfortunately authorities were unable to identify the perforated bodies on site. Perhaps next time.

I will point out that the original Zebra murder investigation resulted in the first court rulings against police profiling of suspects by race.
Even in 1973, with dozens of dead bodies piling up in the streets of a major American city - bodies belonging mostly to old people, women and children (those Black Muslims are so brave and tough) - political correctness overrode public safety.
The Dirty Harry movies were written in the context of the Zodiac murders (1968-1978) and the Zebra murders (1973-1975) and Harry's contempt for the supposed "rights" of murderers and rapists was a direct reaction to the insanity of the time.

Maybe they should sell hot dogs and marshmallows to go with the store fires!
Why don't they demand that African-Americans stop drinking liquor. That would really punish the greedy infidel store owners. ;)
