I can't imagine any other country would be this stupid or have so many gullible people to fall for 30 plus years of "immigration reform" yet nothing of consequence has happened, ESPECIALLY the last five years.

"Nothing worse than a Bushbot right?"

I have nothing but contempt for the party-above-principle Hispandering GOP Big Tent RINOs, liberals and moderates.

That answer your question?

Yes, though I didn't require an answer.

"Yes, though I didn't require an answer."

Excellent. Shows you've been paying attention.

He campaigned on a guest worker program in 2000

Yes, and now some who voted for him claim he "betrayed" them.
Incredible.

For all those Ferners-is-taking-all-of-our-scholarships-and going-home threads:

Here's some funny named Americans doing research that supports "pro-Republican" anti-drug policy. Not big on their results or their study, but these don't sound like people that came from India and China, took advantage of our universities and then went home to be anti-American leftists.

Manzar Ashtari, Ph.D., Sanjiv Kumra, M.D., Co-authors are Jinghui Wu, B.S., Kelly Cervellione, M.A., John Kane, M.D., Philip Szeszko, Ph.D., and Babak Ardekani, Ph.D.

Maybe the melting pot is still warm?

Dang, You make it sound like a chicken-little sky is falling thing.

Is that what you think?

Ack! Goofy from too much coffee.

There's just so many threads lately saying that the US is screwed up, immigration is going to turn us into France, that the Chinese and Indians are stealing all of our University scholarships and then going home and stealing our jobs.....

I just thought that the names of the researchers in this story seemed to have a classic "melting pot" story behind them that is just one little tiny counter-point to all of that gloom and doom.

And then I screwed up my post after all!

MSM is not the only place where if it "bleeds it leads" and the sky is falling. FR can be like that too.

I'm going to layoff posting today so I don't screw up again!

I hear you man.

It makes me totally sad to see where my industry is going. (Integrated Circuit Design and Manufacture).

I'm somewhat in favor of melting pots -- The Vietnamese Boat people being the brightest example I have of refugees doing what refugees should do best -- rise to the top of the heap as engineers here in America.

Some other time we'll lament the shortcomings that don't make this scenario a success story every time.

(p.s. I love coffee too...)

Don't be so hard on yourself :-) sometimes a post gone wrong can be funny and can lighten up an otherwise dreary day.

I was just confused -- when the link added the marajuana use, I was wondering if you thought I was acting loopy! And then I had a good laugh, because that is a safe bet :-)

Cheers,

Well howdy IC man!

I started in the peecee business. Then I went into semiconductors about 10 years b4 US peecee engineering jobs imploded. Now I'm thinking I should already be in EDA software! Or maybe retire into a concrete contractor supervisor job with illegal immigrants doing the work!

Maybe I should be worried, but the worst thing that could happen is that I'd have to start actually working every day!

yeah,

And what is so ridiculously sad, If those EDA software guys would just work their butts off like the Concrete contractor illegal employees do who really want their jobs...

I'm all for legal immigration. Most of us come from legal immigrants to this country, so it would be a terrible contradiction to now be against it. The illegal immigration however must stop for two very good reasons. Firstly, open borders are clearly unconstitutional, and secondly, they are a security risk we can no longer afford to turn a blind eye to.

SLEEPER CELLS.

Well, if no one gives you a "THE MOON IS A CRESCENT" phone call, because they are all dead, SLEEPER CELLS don't matter too much.

Wow. You sure are loquacious.

President Bush took over the CIA WAY before the current WILSON/PLAME spoof.

There is more going on behind the scenes than you know about.

It all takes time, and takes exposing the wolves to the public repeatedly until everyone sees it.

It is not the job of President to run the JUSTICE DEPARTMENT.

Mr. Fitzgerald is an excellent prosecutor and investigator, and he has done exactly what the DEMS and the President asked for.

It just turns out that the claim was 'hot air'.

What is interesting is that no one, especially in the media, wants to know just what BUSINESS Joe Wilson was on when he went to NIGER (Twice, each time spying for the CIA, each time - no strings attached/all costs paid.)

Find out what Joe Wilson's company does and for who.

I see.

So, you lay out a plan, with duedates, with costs, and get the Congress to pass it, and you show it to us, and I will believe the President is diligent in his duty.

The borders are more secure than they have been since WORLD WAR II, maybe more.

There are more men on duty on the border.

The bills passed in Congress limited how many men could be added over time. Are you gonna just break the law?
