Forewarned is forearmed, people.
My standard loudout for hog hunting here in Florida includes:
...with a legal-for-hunting 5-rounder in the AR with 2 spare 30-rounders, as well as three full standard-capacity mags loaded with 180gr Speer Gold Dot .40SW for the Sig, one in battery.

You hunt hogs with a .223? Yearlings? Potbellies? I've got a Winchester 94 with 200gr jacketed SP's that'd do for just about any medium sized game out there.

You're not gonna take too many Hogs with a 223. I'd upgrade it to a .338 Lapua Magnum or something of that order. AR uppers are available in that caliber.
Personally I use a Ruger Redhawk modified to .475 Linebaugh for both bear and hogs. I like for them to see who's nailing them.

Some of the Florida tuskers I've seen, especially in the Ocala area can run over 400 pounds! They are classified as dangerous game by the Fish & Wildlife Dept folks. I haven't hunted hog in awhile, but I would never use less than a .30-30 or more likely a .30-06 Garand with the 5 rd. hunting clip inserted.
'Bout six or so years ago a buddy of mine went on a canned hunt up in north Florida and he took his sixteen year old daughter. SHE capped a 400 pound pig in waist deep swamp using a S&W M629 44 Maggie! Clean kill at about 15 meters. That hog fed 30 folks at her "sweet Sixteen" party a few days later. This little girl was a "preemie" baby and has the telltale spindly arms and legs. But she sure can shoot. Helps that her dad is one of my instructor friends. I enjoyed that pork, too.

I used to do a lot of hog hunting when I lived in south florida. We would go with my uncle on his swamp buggy about 15 miles off the tamiami trail.
Nothing like standing in chest high sawgrass and hearing the sounds of a large boar moving close to you and not being able to see him.
Our load-out was 12ga, with 00 and slug mix. We carried 1911s, but that was to shoot ourselves if the 12ga ran dry before the boar went down. LOL

Lovely AR! I sold both of mine and bought a Springfield Armory M1A match. I love it! Also sold several of my Glocks and bought a Para-Ordnance P-14 .45. Ain't America great!

I was just telling my girls Sunday that these animal rights loonies who place nature above man were in the long run possibly as dangerous as anyone
they are on a crusade beholden to no one
my arty oldest daughter sort of took umbrage and I advised she rent 12 Monkeys just for starters at a hint at what these fried brain goofballs are capable of
