My Post Office Experience Today

Posted on 11/28/2005 2:17:49 PM PST by maineman

My daily trip to the USPO was one for the books today. As I was having my packages stamped a Women came along side of me and asked the clerk if they sold any stamps that didn't promote violence. The clerk was miffed, I was pissed, as she cut into my space. The Women said the American Flag stamps represent murder around the World. I suggested she move to Cuba as she will be able to buy several books of Castro stamps. She called me a Bush-Fool, a new one to me. I asked her to tell me exactly how we were killing people around the World...I-R-A-Q was her answer. I told her we were spreading Democracy and asked her to get back in line. As I left she yelled that I was a rightwinger, I told her "MERRY CHRISTMAS". That ticked her off. Thought I'd share.

Maybe he could have shown her how the "peaceful Muslims" treat a woman who asks such rude questions in public. "SILENCE, FOUL WOMAN!" "AYIYIYIYIYIYIYI!" But the Cuba line was good, too. ;)

...I wished him a Merry Christmas...to which he replied ....'you too'...:)

Every little bit helps...

Thanks for your outstanding contribution :)

And toys? And I'm sure I've seen snowmen/snowpeople stamps. The whiny lady didn't WANT to find any stamps that were inoffensive to her. Her objective was to complain loudly about how horrible the U.S. is.

You were phenomenal. My husband always says to handle obnoxious people with class, and NEVER to stoop to their level (no matter how much you want to one-up them). Most of them don't want facts or truth, they want only to spout off and make a scene so their point (or lack of one) will be remembered. Merry Christmas to you and yours!

Hey, isn't that algore next to her?

Yep! It's an unemployed Algore and a deeply saddened Daschle.

MADONNA CHILD STAMP : ))

Actually, that would have been the perfect suggestion. And if she got offended, ask her why she should be so, when they are probably the two most famous non-violent people in history. That would have given her something to chew on.

Good for you, Maineman. Well done.

Here in NJ, you cut in line in the Post Office, you disappear.

Did she walk or ride a bike as she left or did she get into one of those "evil" autos that uses devil's blood (aka fuel)?

A couple years back I went to the Post Office and had forgotten my glasses. I'm squinting to see the Christmas stamps and ask the clerk to show me the "pretty blue and gold ones". He laughed at me - in a sweet sort of way - and said, "Honey, you really don't want those". I looked closer and realized what I had done. What an IDIOT!

If I worked behind the counter, I would have shown the witch that this is the only stamp we sell... ever:

When you get to Iraq, please tell our guys to ignore the American politicians and know that we, the American people, are behind them 1,000 percent and want you to win in Iraq. And come home safely!

Thanks for the words of encouragement. I'm a flyer, so it won't be dangerous like it is for our folks on the ground. Everybody I know is looking forward to going. We want to support the troops on the ground who drive convoys or catch terrorists.
