Leakgate accuser Joe Wilson hinted at the prospect of impeachment Monday morning while discussing the "betrayal of national security" entailed by the outing of his CIA employee-wife, saying that he hoped the case wouldn't result in "a constitutional crisis."
Asked if he thought the leaking of his wife's name by Cheney chief of staff Lewis Libby was sanctioned by White House higher-ups, Wilson told WABC Radio's "Curtis & Kuby":
"It is clear that Mr. Libby and Mr. Rove were acting - but whether they were acting independently or not is something for [Leakgate prosecutor Patrick] Fitzgerald to determine."
Wilson then explained: "It does strike me that, normally in an organization, the chief of staff does not act completely separate from his principal."
Adopting a tone of mock regret, the aggrieved ex-diplomat declared: "Now I would hope, of course, that this tawdry political act of illegality and betrayal of national security does not become a constitutional crisis."
Asked what actual damage his wife had suffered since she was not undercover at the time of her outing, Wilson declined to respond directly, saying only:
"[Bush officials] decided that they were going to use the enormous power of the White House communications office to try to destroy us. I have had no choice but to defend myself."
Every Repub needs to stand firm and not go wobbly in 2006 just because the RATs control the MSM. We will all hear non-stop the drum for IMPEACHMENT from now until Nov 2006, bank on it. So work for the Repub you think deserve to be re-elected and STAND STRONG even in the face of seemingly negative news. Remember that in the most part the RATS and their willing accomplices in the MSM are simply making up the news.
Watch and see. Impeachment would be the ultimate slap in the face to all conservatives.
There are things worth fighting for..
Joe Wilson needs a life.
Joe Wilson Hints at Impeachment...of everything but his own credibility.
Ps.Go Away Asshole!
Who said Libby leaked it?
and the rest of my fellow freepers.......
I am terribly afraid you are right about an impeachment of President Bush.
I'm not particularily smart or articulate anymore. So, this is my humble and less informed take, based on many many conversations with mainstream liberals. The democrats have successfully got us distracted and running in circles. While we place all of our focus and attention on the individual, but important, pieces, i.e., Wilson, Bush lied, Plame, Immediate Withdrawal, Niger, Cia, secret prisions, forgeries, Murtha, Libby, Oil for Food, Able Danger, torture, Delay, CNN, Sheehan, Cheney , Fitzgerald, Woodward, Mitchell, abramoff, and so on, the LL, keeping us on the defense, is busy working on a much bigger offensive goal...... Impeachment. When push comes to shove, we 'take the high road' Republicans are not, IMO, particularly 'streetsmart'. The forced vote over the Murtha ordeal was a great move, but it's not enough. I am afraid that by the time we do take action, it may be too little too late....so, I'm not talking fireside chats folks. Our soldiers are fighting the fight. Risking their lives every day for a Commander in Chief who may no longer be? Certainly they are helpless to do anything about it. We are. Right now, it seems all things lead full circle back to Wilson. He may be just a tool, but clearly an effective one. How many threads on this site alone are dedicated to him? Personally, I don't want to wake up to find out that the battle between Wilson and Bush is over and the Wilson has won. That being said, what can I do to help?
IMO and just my 2 cents.
Fitzgerald already said that she wasn't outed.
They're getting even more desparate.
Just how many careers have to be ruined for this little two-bit asshat?
Many of us have wondered where he gets his money .. because he's been living like the Rich and Famous long before he wrote that NY article
Telling the truth about Wilson and his wife was a real dirty trick - NOT! As I said on another thread, when a Republican tells something truthful about a Democrat, they are accused of being sleazy, unethical, etc. You would think people would want to know the truth about public issues.
Wilson's a putz. Or a schmuck. I get them confused. :-)
That's easy. A putz gets elected, a schmuck gets him elected.

Don't worry, we will just impeach their next President!
has Fitz interviewed this guy and his wife yet?
Anything Joe Wilson says should be seen throught the prism of his pending civil suit against the Administration.
Then we could have DISCOVERY, in which I would suggest the following questions be asked:
Please tell us, Mr. Wilson, where you got the money for your million dollar house, your kitchen remodel with granite countertops, your Rollex, your Persian rugs, your Jaguar, your Mercedes, etc.
How recently have you had contact with your second wife, Jacqueline? What was her position with the French intelligence agency?
How much were you paid by the Kerry campaign, and was it their idea to change the findings you made on your Niger trip?
What contacts have you had with Sandy Berger?
Describe in detail your business and personal relationship with Walter Pincus of the Washington Post.
Why did you not sign a confidentiality agreement with the CIA? Who approved your non-signing?
I could go on, but you get my point. I don't think he will sue, because even I, a midwestern housewife, can think of a great many questions which the government's attorneys should ask.
More interesting (to me), why hasn't Fitz investigated this little gem from the Vanity Fair article...the one with Wilson/Plame on the cover posing in their Jaguar. It refers to a conference which occurred right before Kristof's first article about a "former ambassador sent to Niger at the behest of the Vice President's office":
In early May [2003], Wilson and Plame attended a conference sponsored by the Senate Democratic Policy Committee, at which Wilson spoke about Iraq; one of the other panelists was the New York Times journalist Nicholas Kristof. Over breakfast the next morning with Kristof and his wife, Wilson told about his trip to Niger and said Kristof could write about it, but not name him.Is Fitz not curious that Plame sat there at the table with a NEW YORK TIMES REPORTER as her husband
Il nous fait de l'audace, encore de l'audace, et toujour de l'audace.(Audacity, more audacity, always audacity)
This quote is sometimes falsely attributed to Fredrick the Great.
In Joe Wilson's case it would be: Jackassity, more Jackassity, always Jackassity.
Garde la Foi, mes amis! Nous nous sommes les sauveurs de la République! Maintenant et Toujours!

It seems like Fitz is only interested in Libby and Rove. I am concerned because Matthews is spitting and looking delighted again when he says leak.
They think Rove is going down. Did you notice how sad Matthews looked last week and now he's happy again.
