Pretty sad when Chris Wallace is the most fair and balanced interviewer other than Brit Hume.
Wouldn't walk across the street to see or hear any of the others on Fox.
First Hannukah candle is lit December 25th. at sundown.
All of you are right. Really, the crass commercialism of Christmas has ruined it for me. When I was growing up, we always went to Christmas sunrise service FIRST, then you get to see presents, and have a big dinner. It is about Christ the Saviour, not funding some looter fools in NYC and DC. Christians should bring back the true meaning of Christmas as it was over a hundred years ago. Before the marketers saw a chance to soak the public. People (Christians) used to get up on Christmas morning, go to church, celebrate the Lord's Birth, and then go on to work like the rest of the world. I'm beginning to think that maybe we should get back to that. Let the rest of world do what it wants, let's keep the true meaning in our hearts.
So there!

This PC cr@p is out of hand. I'm agnostic, I don't know if there is a God or not. But it's NOT AN EFFING "HOLIDAY TREE"! IT'S A CHRISTMAS TREE!
When did "Christmas" become a dirty word? Why is it that the only religion that receives any damned respect in this country is barbaric Islam. I guess Jews and Christians can just go die, because we can't offend the "peaceful" muslims. Makes me want to freaking puke. You can't wish someone a "Merry Christmas" because that's offensive.
I think that a warlord porking a 14 year old girl is offensive, but the savage muslims made one their prophet.
Effing double standard.
My vision of a "holiday" tree is a hall tree decorated with damp woolen hats and coats. And nestled underneath are muddy boots, a broken umbrella, and three mismatched gloves.
It's snowing today here in Northern Nevada. One thing for sure, genuine Christmas trees sure smell better than fake holiday trees or hall trees.
This year I'm making a point of shopping for gifts at stores that are not afraid to use the "C" word. "Nevada Backyard" uses the the "C" word (Christmas) at least a half a dozen times in their radio and print ads. So that's where I'm buying a lot of my gifts this year.
Whoops! My fault. I ran "first Channukah candle" in Google and December 7th turned up - must have been from another year.
I should have known better for lots of reasons, including the fact I just received an invitation to my little sister's home to celebrate!
I e-mailed them also. I encourage everyone to e-mail them and let them know of your displeasure!
No one is stopping anyone from celebrating their holiday any way they see fit.
Then we should be sending some nicely written emails/letters to 1600 shouldn't we?
JUST RECEIVED AN E-MAIL RESPONSE FROM JOHN GIBSON!
I sent him the link of this thread. Here's his reply:
The deal is the christmas tree bureaucrat in dc renamed the thing a few years ago the holiday tree. so that's what it is called, officially. i don't like it either.

Awesome.. LOL!
Hmmmmm, my exposure to the commercial term Happy Holidays goes back quite a few years when the greeting card manufacturers were still printing Merry Christmas cards and also Happy New Year cards, which my parents as well as my wife and I would send out and receive as well.
Then, gradually the Happy New Year cards disappeared because of the cost not only for the cards but postage as well and the new Happy Holidays & Seasons Greetings cards came on the scene combining the two with the phrases of Merry Christmas and Happy New Year inside.
For all these years, the Holiday Season has always meant Christmas & New Year to me.
John Gibson has been solid. For all you can say about O'Reilly, he's been supportive of Bush on the war and taken people to task on it.
Cavuto is good as well.
I agree. Happy Holidays also refers to New Year.
