People walk past as a homeless person takes cover from the cold on a Paris sidewalk November 28, 2005, as six homeless have died in France since the arrival of winter temperatures. French authorities have raised their weather alert in 31 departments and asked for increased vigilance to the homeless in Paris.
LOL.
"I think the french do not like the french even more than we do."
There is a joke:
Quand le bon Dieu a cree le monde, Il a decide de faire un pays parfait, donc Il a cree la France. Ensuite, Il a eu des regrets, donc Il l'a peuple avec les francais...
[When the good Lord created the world, He decided to make one perfect country: so He created France. Then he had second thoughts, so he filled her with the French...]
Socialism -- gotta love it! NOT!
They let the homeless die in the streets from the cold, and they let the elderly die in their homes from the heat! Nice country.
bttt
I concluded that if I slept on my deck everynight in a sleeping bag, I would not survive the winter. I'm 55 and in good health. Where I live it's about 5-10 degrees colder than Boston in the winter.
Now that's true...there's often times I can comfortably wear shorts at LEAST until temps start dipping below freezing.
I just don't feel it, there's no other way to explain it.
You're kidding, right?
80 = time to go outside cuz it makes the breeze feel soooo nice
45 = MAYBE a pair of shoes more closed than sandals, but not really needing sneakers (and socks) or anything like that yet
Probably, but a lot of French have been living in north North America for many winters and can cope. Napoleon took about a million French to Moscow for a homeless winter, but most stayed and didn't report back what 40 below is like. Are the homeless still allowed to sleep on the Paris subway ventilation grates where the warm air comes out?
Well its quite clear why. All the shopping carts were burnt in the riots.
French to Moscow for a homeless winter, but most stayed and didn't report back what 40 below is like - I believe (no joke) the french started enjoying the taste of horse about this time also.
We like it that way, it keeps them away from Sacramento.

Come on ~ everyone knows that there are no homeless people in the socialist Utopia of France.
We have one guy who stands on the corner, filthy, begging from the cars as they get off the freeway. I will give him a protein bar if anything. Money would only go toward more drugs or drink. His cardboard sign reads "HEALP THU HAOMLISH" so my kids call him Hamlish. I don't know if anyone could actually spell that badly or if that is an additional draw for him.
ROFL!
I'd give him a dollar for being creative.
Never really had that much sympathy for the homeless in France of the US or anywhere else. Isn't the government's place to take care of them.
