I would love to see Mr. President retract his remarks about the Minutemen and give them some thanks and praise instead.
They deserve it and he would be well advised to befriend this movement of good and decent people.

I for one am anxiously waiting here to what President Bush has to say. He needs to realize that amnesty will not be acceptable though.AWB

Hey, this is going to be another chance to slam Bush. Such fun. He won`t go as far as Tancredo wants (who could) and thats not enough. How about impeaching him?
And, if it hurts the war effort against terrorism and puts our troops in harms way, so what? Bush won`t go house to house, grapping Mexicans and thats what we want.

Other than Ronaldus Magnus, he was my favorite President in my lifetime. However, ever since his 'Vigilante' comment with respect to the Minutemen, I've been forced to seriously reconsider that position.

I live in Oregon. This evening, my wife and I drove to WALMART to buy a few items. I was ASTONISHED by the number of shoppers speaking Spanish. It had to have been 1/3.
Please, Sir, we voted you back in as President because we trusted you to look out for us. Please deal decisively with the issue of illegal immigration.

President Bush today will call for a crackdown on illegal immigration... the president will also renew his call for a program to allow Mexicans who have already entered the U.S. illegally to remain here for up to six years. That initiative has long angered conservatives who equate it with amnesty. The President is talking out both sides of his mouth. Cracking down on illegal immigration and offering amnesty are two conflicting policies. What Bush really wants is to continue a policy of open borders that plays to the Hispanic voters and leaves US businesses with endless cheap labor.

Letting illegals stay is NOT cracking down on illegal immigration. More empty, insulting talk.

Should President Bush push this amnesty
for illegals? It will not bode well for
the Republican party should he choose
to do so. The Republican party has to make
a decision and 89 percent of Americans are not
going to be denied on the illegal issue.
Piss off 89 percent of the American public
and woe be unto he/she or the party having
done such.
I hope President Bush isn't going to be
"Stuck on Stupid" for a host of reasons
on this issue.

With the six year Guest Worker plan, the Bush Administration asks us to believe that a Democrat administration that will possibly succeed Bush's will forcibly deport those illegally extending their stay. This while at present laws are not enforced at all against those here entirely illegally.
Bush seeks to mollify and hoodwink conservatives through more elaborate and concerted bamboozling. They still don't understand that we are onto them.

Sounds like the guy we DIDN'T want to be President last November.

from the Washington Times....
"We're going to get control of our borders," Mr. Bush said
on Oct. 18. "Our goal is clear -- to return every single
illegal entrant, with no exceptions."
This is what he had best be saying loud and clear.
Then he had best start doing just as the sentence
says....and return / remove every single illegal....
if there is an amnesty anywhere in the retoric......
there will be he!! to pay.
