I would love to see Mr. President retract his remarks about the Minutemen and give them some thanks and praise instead.
They deserve it and he would be well advised to befriend this movement of good and decent people.

Why aren't the Minutemen vigilantes?

Now, I wouldn't call them vigilantes, but people with good common sense... but aren't they vigilantes?

Same here. I have a suspicion that he was given bad data by one of his aides on that one. If he had been able to follow the story himself and learn about the kind of men who are involved in the Minutemen, I doubt he would have made such an insensitive remark. The Bushbashers will never cut him any slack, but I think that he has a lot of info to read and process every single day and was, therefore, not up to speed on this story.
