President Condi Rice?

Posted on 11/25/2005 3:36:42 PM PST by oldsalt

Did I hear correctly during the Fox news interview with Condi Rice by Jim Angle?

When he ended the interview I could swear he called her Madame President instead of Madame Secretary.

If not maybe it was wishful thinking on my part.

I don't like any of the names thrown out for 2008. The only two I would support would be Tom Tancredo or Pat Buchannon. Newt Gingrich has always had the most intelligent approach, but he has proved in the past that he succombed to party poltics and "bipartisan BS" like most of the others.

Pat Buchannon has been on target as much as any commentator has been over the last year, and he takes on crucial issues dead on, where most of the others just play finger in the wind politics. Neither candidate, I believe, could win the White House, even if they were to get the GOP nod.

Our dream solution would be to have a younger, charismatic, good-looking, very successful executive rise up out of the business ranks and come in and take the party--and the nation--by storm.

Like a huge number of voters, I am fed up with Washington career, self-cented politicians. The time is ripe for a corporate icon to come out of the corporate world and turn the voters on. The opening is there; the voters hunger for an outsider with leadership and management ability. A no BS demanding take charge leader is what we need, and you will never find that from any politician.

..one must remember who the base is in the party.

Unless there is a complete commitment to the life issue, Sec. Rice will never get through the primaries.

Mr. Bush, says what he does and does what he says

LOL! No matter how many times people tell that joke, it's still hilarious.

I'm curious about your comment that Rudy is a "yankee carpet bagger." How can someone who is an American citizen be considered a carpet bagger when running for President?

Yeah, Colin and Albright were sooooo much better!

Okay, so we have had three lemons; does that qualify her?

It will be awhile before a woman gets voted president.

Oh, I don't know. We've already had our first black president, Bill Clinton.

But seriously, I had something of a male chauvinist upbringing, but I wouldn't hesitate to vote for a conservative woman for POTUS. I would certainly go for Condi over anything the other side could offer up.

As usual, you overlooked the main point in the post, or, you just don't have the grey matter to understand what was said.

Your pattern is predictable.

How 'bout Peter Uberoth? (Los Angeles Olympics)

Whether or not you care about Rice's abortion stance doesn't negate the fact that millions of Christian voters do. And those folks will ignore her, or Giuliani's, name on a ballot for President of the United States.

It's very simple, run a real conservative and win, or oppose HRC with a Rice/Guiliani clone and lose.

If she was running against Mike Moore, I'd still not waste gasoline to drive to vote for her...

ohh yeah....right....

you said the only people you would vote for are possibly the two with the least chance of getting the nomination. Especially since Buchanan will probably NOT run on a national party ticket and therefore will be reduced to begging like Nader does.

As for Tancredo, you just don't win coming out of the House anymore. If he were really serious about being President, he would have found a way to be a Governor so at least he could carry a state at the start. Not that he wouldn't carry Colorado, but as a governor we would have an idea. But he isn't. He is out to advance his pet issue, which is just fine.

Pat is out to sell his next book, which is, I guess fine as well, but don't tout either as a serious Presidential candidate, but they aren't.

And I think your pattern is even MORE predictable - and funny.

I do care what her stand on abortion is...

So do I, I won't vote for a pro abortion candidate, even against HRC.

I love Condi. Maybe as VP.

I am worried about people who have not held high office running. America alsmost always elects Governors and ex-Governors President. Thats been the trend for along time now.

I'm impressed with Rice. Loved the way she handled her confirmation hearings. Good call to send in a woman to clean up the mess at the State Department. They need a good dusting.

I think Condi would be better to start off as VP, but Dick Morris certainly thinks she is it.

Rudi/Rice?
Romney/Rice?
Rudi/George Allen?
McCain/Romney?

Too soon to tell....

The GOP is going to lose the Whitehouse in 2008. Not because anyone is in love with the Dems; but, because we haven't done a good job in preparing our lineup. Ideally, we would have made use of the 2004 Presidential primaries to give a couple of candidates broad national recognition. The GOP failed to do that so now our candidates are going to have to run from behind.

For what it's worth, my guts tell me that it's not gonna happen. I can't see Condi being president.

I don't see her making it through the primaries.
