These people do NOT drink their own tap water!!
They order boiled water in restaurants, and they LIVE there!!
Trust me, the water is POISON in China, DONT DRINK ANYTING that isnt from a bottle or boiled.

Isn't China the reason we don't join the Kyoto protocol? Actually I would prefer to say "Proof of why we don't join the Kyoto protocol."
Isn't china considered one of those developing sorts of nations that doesn't have to take care of itself? and if we join the kyoto, when the time comes to clean things up, it will be on everyone ELSE to clean up china's indifferent to all things but the sustainment of centralized power?
Just wondring.

These people do NOT drink their own tap water!!It was the same way in Turkey when my ship made liberty calls there during Desert Storm. The rule was, "if it didn't come out of a bottle or can, don't drink it!" A few guys drank the water anyway, and wound up in sickbay with dysentery - nasty, nasty stuff.

Every Chinese knows that tap water =/= potable water. In fact they are astonished to see foreigners fresh off-boat might drink from tap.
To Wiz: I don't see where the 30% unpolluted waterways are located. Don't tell me they are all in occupied Tibet.
BTW, the 5th ring road in Beijing is NOT a ring.

I've also heard from people who have been there the sky is so polluted, they can't see the stars at night, even in the countryside.
