BOSTON (AP) -- Sen. John Kerry's public profile and prosecutorial past didn't spare him from performing that most mundane of civic responsibilities -- jury duty.
Kerry was not only chosen this week to sit on a jury in Suffolk Superior Court, but also was elected foreman.
The case involved two men who sued the city for injuries suffered in a 2000 car accident involving a school principal. The Kerry-led jury rejected their claim Tuesday, and his fellow jurors said the state's junior senator was a natural leader.

My guess. He'll find him guilty before he finds him innocent.
Is the verdict "seared, seared I tell you" into Hanoi John's memory? Or will he flip-flop, saying he voted guilty before he voted not-guilty?
What attorney would not challenge Kerry immediately? Don't they have three challenges to begin with?
I bet the plaintiffs thought a "common man" like Kerry would sympathize with their claims.
John Foreman Kerry?
I don't think that's what the F. stood for.
Feeding the ego. I wonder if it was a 7-5 vote?
Jury duty is not mundane.
The attempted murder case I participated in, as a juror, almost let the perp go free. In an almost 12 Angry Men scenario, 8 jurors didn't want to put the perp away because he was a kid. I stood against them and convinced all but one that he was guilty. He admitted to the crime. He admitted everything.
The one juror who would not budge turned out to be a youth counsellor who wouldn't condemn the kid no matter what. A hung jury. The judge gave him 2nd degree attempted murder, and 5 years.
The irony is, that's exactly what he did! The jury found the city negligent but did not award any damages.
"Mr. Kerry, can you give us your full name?"
Kerry: I served in Vietnam.
"Mr. Kerry, what is your address?"
Kerry: I served in Vietnam.
"Mr. Kerry, do you know the plaintiff or defendant?"
Kerry: I served in Vietnam.
I can just hear it now,
"He's guilty, and your all going to vote guilty as well, because I'm John F Kerry!"
I still can't believe he let himself be photographed like that. What a putz.
ROFL!
Thats a natural born leader if I ever saw one.
"I just found him to be a knowledgeable, normal person," said Cynthia Lovell, a nurse and registered Republican who says she now regrets voting for President Bush in last year's election.
RINO? McCainiac?
I think Kerry's presence on the jury may be grounds for appeal.
They had to throw this in the article though.... Good 'ole CNX:
"I just found him to be a knowledgeable, normal person," said Cynthia Lovell, a nurse and registered Republican who says she now regrets voting for President Bush in last year's election. "He kept us focused. He wanted us all to have our own say."
