Murtha is nothing more than Nancy Pelosi's political sex toy. Used and abused only to be discarded.

Out of the mouth of a Capt B, a Marine serving in Iraq:

"Holy Crap Bat Man I could write a whole Blog entry on Sen Murtha. He came here in Iraq a couple months ago. Praising us for what a great job we did. He visited places out west like Haditha and told the Marines there “we are going to let you finish what you started” as I listened. He probed about requirements and gear and moral and was somewhat disappointed that we had what we needed and kept asking well what do you really need trying to find a problem. HE defiantly just pissed off a majority of the military now and has gone 180 degree from what he was saying and preaching about “Finishing the job” when he was face to face with us. He has been to Iraq ONCE for 3 days. Everything he is saying now is exactly the opposite of what he was saying when he was with us. He makes sound like he is a front line troop as he speaks. He is two faced and I have seen it first hand standing in front of him as he spoke to us. This is a very sad ploy by the democrats and will do nothing but hurt our troops."

Any questions?

The primary purpose of these polls is to get email addresses so that they can bombard you with political hate speech.

I voted for a draft. we might not need it for Iraq but I guarantee it is needed. Sure we got enough able bodied men right now, but when the shemp hits the fan we dont have 6 to 12 months to train up raw recruits. So does he legislate by polls or what?

How 'bout

"We should re-instate the draft to ramp our forces, up the military budget for equipment and training, and crusade thoughout the Middle East destroying terrorists and the nations that support them, like Syria, Iran, and Saudi Arabia, along with that ridiculous little half-nation, 'Palestine.'"

"I can't find an email, where I'd like to ask the question "Why don't you publicize the results, you old fool." "

Oh, he will. Now that it's clear he wasn't going to really get the answer he wanted, he'll instead thank us all for our submissions and then come back claiming that only those who voted for 'no matter how many years' were for the war and everyone else (including the None of the Above) was all for a pullout.

Since there'll be no inconvenient page-captures to dispute his new results, he'll say whatever numbers he wants and the media will print it.

I voted for a draft.

So did I, but women should register as well.
Not for frontline combat positions, of course.
But they can certainly make a valuable contribution in support units.

His preferred result must be losing big like it was earlier.

Yep; and now he can claim the results are anything he wishes, as well....Lenin had a saying for that.

If you went to the poll from his web site, it gave you the results.

I saved some stats. I started hitting submit (almost like i was a bot) for about 20 minutes. (a bot was running the Rat question on the poll). Then the poll was gone from the site.

Results from the poll(so far) on Murtha's web-site:

These are the results from your web survey.
The sample survey started on 11/22/05.
The last response was on 11-22-2005 15:34.
Please indicate which of the following best summarizes your view on what the United States should do in Iraq:

# Votes %

A We should immediately remove all troops. 1562 12.3

B We should redeploy to the periphery of Iraq as soon as practical to protect troop safety and give the Iraqis incentive to take charge sooner, not later. 3239 25.6

C We should maintain current troop levels until Iraq builds an army to defend and stabilize their country, even if that takes years. 6726 53.1

D We should re-institute the national draft to increase troop levels to where we can seal the Iraqi borders and stop the passage of insurgents and insurgent-supply missions. 1146 9.0

E None of the above. 3 0.0

Total 12676

He was getting hammered. When I started submitting, the 53% was down to 46%

"If you are not a Constituent of the 12th Congressional District of Pennsylvania please click here to find your Congressman." Doesn't look like he wants to hear from outside his district. From his contact page.
