Someone needs to tell CNN that taking it seriously means they find out if someone at the network WOULD deliberately pout an X over the VP's face. Otherwise--they certainly are NOT taking it seriously.

My kids used to come up with better excuses than CNN that I didn't buy into, and I trust my kids.
