The Borden girl's middle name is listed as Beth. I'm guessing it's Elizabeth, so they could have called her "Lizzie Borden"??

Does PA have the death penalty? If so, it sounds like the boyfriend just volunteered for it.
I wonder if the girl will be charged. That "Lizzie Borden" thing is eerie...I wonder if it's like having the middle name "Wayne"?

No surprise here. She needs to be charged as an accessory.

PA technically does have the death penalty but only 3 have been executed since 1976, that's seven fewer than California and Gov. Rendell (D) appears to be trying to play the "race card" to halt the death penalty so I wouldn't expect such a sentence to come into play here.

'something' is just not getting through to alot of these young ladies these days....Natalee ? Taylor?
What more can parents do to get through into their little secret worlds they start creating at about age 12 or 13?
How can true life wisdom and interest in doing the right thing
and maintaining virtue be cultivated ?
Girls these days , some of them, just seem to want to throw it all away as quickly as possible. Don't they know they will spend their lives regretting it? If they make it....

Pennsylvania has the death penalty. Mummia Abu Jamal murdered a policeman in Philadelphia decades ago and has yet to be executed. I figure a Lancaster County jury will give him life.
It has been said that this killer had a problem with another girl and her parents earlier this year. That family was fortunate.

He may be getting married soon, but it won't be to a girl. The boy confessed he did it, when will he stop being an 'alleged' killer? I was never even convicted of killing that prime minister and everybody still refers to me as an assassin. They probably always will, but it's cool. I'm used to it.

Perhaps some of the old timers recollect Charles Starkweather and Carol Ann Fugate.
On January 28, 1958, Charles Starkweather went to the house of his girlfriend Caril Ann Fugate (fifteen years of age). At her house, he argued with and shot Caril Ann's mother and stepfather and strangled Caril Ann's two-year-old sister. Caril Ann got home just in time to witness all three murders.
Starkweather hid the bodies at various places behind the house. The two stayed in the house for several more days, turning people away with a note taped to the door, written by Caril, that read: "Stay a Way Every Body is sick with the Flue [sic]." Caril Ann's grandmother became suspicious and called the police.
When police arrived Charles and Caril Ann had already left. In the following three days, Starkweather shot or stabbed 7 people to death. The first killing was when Charles robbed a gas station and abducted attendant Robert Colvert. He drove Colvert to a secluded spot and executed him with shotgun fire into the gut and then to the head. Just to watch him die, I guess.
The dead:
1. Robert Colvert (21), gas station attendant
2. Marion Bartlett, Caril Ann's stepfather
3. Velda Bartlett, Caril Ann's mother
4. Betty Jean Bartlett (2), Marion and Velda's daughter
5. August Meyer (72), Starkweather's family friend
6. Robert Jensen (17)
7. Carol King (16), Robert's girlfriend
8. Clara Ward, C. Lauer Ward's wife
9. C. Lauer Ward (47), wealthy industrialist
10. Lillian Fencl (51), Clara Ward's maid
11. Merle Collison, travelling salesman
Caril Ann Fugate was fifteen years old. She watched Starkweather kill her mother and stepfather and then strangle her two year old sister. She went with Starkweather on his killing spree. Who knows if she pulled a trigger or two?

Interesting. . .I remember.. .but had forgotten. . .
That said. . .and supposed evidence to back up this charge/assertion; I guess it is just a matter of time before they go and arrest her. ..or is there some hesitation going on here which is to say. .
. . ..'what are they waiting for'?

As soon as I saw her picture, the first thought that came to my mind was that she was involved with the murders. Generally, it's the girls who are the masterminds in these situations.

True. But this story in disturbing in the facts that both her and the boyfriend were supposed to be Christians.
She wouldn't have been to the first girl to tell her boyfriend that the only way you'll be able to "be" with me is to kill my parents.
I'm starting to believe that she had known the murders were "going down" before hand.

Just curious, are Starkweather and Fugate still living?
To: cricket
I guess it is just a matter of time before they go and arrest her...Don't count on it, IMO. They'll need a hell of a lot of proof of aiding and abetting -- are they going to go with an iffy case against a 14-year-old girl who just had her parents gunned down? She didn't buy a gun, she didn't provide the car, etc. So did she buy gas for him or split a Slurpee? That's what they'd be down to.

There's many people who profess to be Christians and don't act that way.

When he's actually convicted. You'd be amazed at how many people confess to crimes they couldn't possibly have committed. People have confessed to murdering people who are still alive. Whenever a high profile case comes in, they often get multiple people confessing to the crime. Why does it happen? People are nuts. :-)

Jamal's death sentence was suspended by a judge in December 2001. There still may be a chance he could get a new sentencing hearing and get the death penalty, but I think that is unlikely. For all practical purposes Jamal's death sentence was commuted.

'something' is just not getting through to alot of these young ladies these days....Natalee ? Taylor? What gets through to them is peer pressure. By 13 many are dressing like hookers and dancing like strippers .. because "everyone does it".
They turn themselves into sexual objects. The really sad part of all this is that they are placing such a low value on themselves. How can anyone else place a high value on them, if they don't place a high value on themselves. My mother used to tell me, "Maybe if you start a little later .. you'll last a little longer".
Guys are not innocent in this. They are starting earlier and treating women just the way they do it in the rap songs.
