CNN MARKS CHENEY: NETWORK FLASHES 'X' OVER VP'S FACE DURING LIVE SPEECH

At 11:04:45 AM ET Monday CNN was airing Vice President Dick Cheney's speech live from the American Enterprise Institute in Washington -- when a large black 'X' repeatedly flashed over the vice president's face!
The 'X' over Cheney's face appeared each time less than a second, creating an odd subliminal effect.
As this DRUDGE REPORT screen capture reveals, while one 'X' flashed over Cheney's face CNN ran a headline at the bottom of its screen: "CHENEY: I DO NOT BELIEVE IT IS WRONG TO CRITICIZE."
One top White House source expressed concern about what was aired over CNN.
"Is someone in Atlanta trying to tell us something?"
A CNN spokesman did not return repeated calls late Monday night.

I think the "N" in "WRONG" is overlaid by a black lowercase "g", if I look at it just so and squint a little.
The first X pops up just before the text changes. It could be the switcher's symbol for a cross-fade for dissolve, and it ended up on the program instead of a preview monitor.
Also, part of the black writing looks like a handwritten "18", but that's all I can make out.

Reminds me of how they made an enormous presidential campaign issue out of the meaningless, non-existent "RATS" subliminal. Guaranteed this latest outrage by them will be quickly forgotten because "of course" they would never intend such a thing.

I think it's arabic text.
That's why we can't read it. With English, our brains would fill in the missing areas and we could decipher the hidden letters. With Arabic, they keep trying to decipher but can't.

I think you've pegged it - this must have been the screen where an operator was listening to the speech and preparing the captions.
I wonder if the other X flickers occur when the caption changes.

Obviously, Dick Cheney (as former Secretary of Defense) is the head of a super-secret military organization. CNN just "outed" him. There should be an investigation.

Wasn't there something about terrorists using images hidden in photos or pictures to send messages?
That writing image looks like it might show up with the right color filter over it--or several, maybe, that filter out the colors in the background, revealing the message (and the language).
